Was before my time. I came with Bloodlines and they already had the Aura voice we had on TQ that everyone loved and cherished.

CCP, do not kill Aura please.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Have to agree with all the other contributors to this thread. The new voice is too high pitched and fast. It's not just an old player's objection to change - I've embraced many of the changes that CCP has brought to the game. But this voice is just horrible. It lacks the authority and gravitas of the original, plus it was quite soothing to hear when you were stressing on getting to your destination and heard your docking request had been accepted.
If CCP had announced they were going to try a new voice out then I suspect more people would have logged onto the test server to hear it and there'd have been more comments, some maybe for it (but I suspect many more against).
Why can't we still have the option of the old voice? Even cheap sat navs give you a choice!

Strangely tutorial Aura doesn't sound THAT bad. It still is different (like fom inside a can or cheap speaker) but the pace and voice height isn't so bad. Apart from pace and height I think the main reason I don't like new Aura is that it reminds me voices from modern rts games and Aura was always special to Eve. I would even risk saying she is one of core foundations of Eve and changing her is like changing space background to let's say ... Ponnyville?

"Navigation Aura" sounds like it was sampled and poorly composed and I suspect that devs sampled her to avoid additional costs in the future. If its true I'm ok with cutting corners but could we stay within the track?

I guess we can get used to anything...

Not an improvement in my humble opinion.

It's now getting close to Ascension.

Can I make this last-minute request to have the new Aura voice slowed down?

I'm an old hand at EVE and can join in with Aura when she tells me what's happening: "Warping to stargate", "Docking request accepted" and so on but with the new voice if something happens that I do not usually hear then I may be in trouble. My hearing is not what it was and with the high pitch and garbled delivery I find it hard to make out what Aura is saying even with the familiar messages. Is it possible to slow down the voice by say, 10% ,so that it's a bit clearer? I notice that the "Docking request excepted" message has be changed to "Docking request accepted" So things can be changed if necessary.

Please CCP just a small change to the new Aura voice will make my, and I suspect others, EVE experience a bit better.

The old Aura voice was more smooth, had some depth and felt more lively. Nice companion during lone travels in the cold space. The new one is flat, simple - even oversimplified - with no depth and way too artificial. I personally hate this change, because new voice sounds like made by some amateurs comparing to the old one. Hearing it only a few times forced me to mute it because it was extremely annoying. I really hope that CCP will at least consider introducing the old Aura voice to be implemented for currency - either the real one or for ISK - I would even have no problem if they'd charge like 10$ for in-game access to it.

Just add me to the list of people who thinks the previous Aura voice was something I looked forward to hearing the occasional message from, while the new Aura will soon get muted.

Too fast - sounds like a busy receptionist who doesn't have time to deal with you, bit too nasal, lacks the warmth of the previous Aura. It's not terrible or anything, it's just a replacement of a 'nice' feature with a 'will probably mute' feature.

Put 'replace Aura voice with someone who actually sounds pleasant' on the To-Do list please.

(edit: I also had to bump up the volume on the new voice, then max the Main volume and lower all the other volumes, just to make it half-way clear... some poor audio work here really)

Many changes they did were good, but many others were plain downgrades...

That voice is AWEFUL !
Please let use use the old one for the common spoken commands.
It was just more clear and pleasant.

This is so upsetting.

Also,why :
- skill's training time multipliers disappeared for the skill list ?
- blue/yellow/red tiles on skills to show trained/injected/missing disappeared for bad stylized unicolor hard-to-read new ones ?
- the omega button is freakin everywhere even for omega status accounts ?
Just why ? It cluster the screen with useless info.
It was just more ergonomic and more efficient before.

The space just become more empty and less beefy, but there's still much more simple way to ruin the rest of ingame atmosphere. Just remove all visual and audial content except for numbers and tables, since this is the game about tables in space anyway, amirite? Imagine the possible outcome: no more royalty issues, no need in artists, no more resource consuming development, full availability to those low-end PC players, worldwide coverage! Just pure... er... sandbox? Yep. Sandbox. That's how CCP calls it. The game about space sand, space rectangles and space tumbleweed.

That hits the spot. I still hear her in my head whenever I move around the space. Good thing we still have the old, good, true Aura right here. CCP please fire whoever made the decision to replace that fantastic voice with *that* new thing and bring old Aura back.

What was the logic behind this *improvement* anyway? We had something good, something that people (at least most of them) enjoyed. A comfortable, smooth, warm, calming, relaxing Aura's voice that constantly kept you company on your travels through the dark space. It was good, it was perfect really. And then someone got an idea and tried to make it *better*, and it backfired. As someone pointed out, what we have now is something of a busy receptionist who doesn't have time to deal with you. All the charm that original voice had is gone. Completely wiped out. Chewed and spit on the floor and then stomped. Multiple members of the corp I'm in also are - to say the least - unsatisfied with this change and also muted this garbage. Now we only have a memory of this great feature that was simply downgraded and broken.

Every other change I rather enjoy, although getting used to interface changes will take some short period of time. But changing Aura voice is just one, huge misunderstanding.

Basically, new changes/new player experience had new voice lines. So they had to add something. One assumes they lost track of, couldn't afford or couldn't get availability for the previous voice actor.

An operation like CCP would likely just use someone in-house or request 'a sorta British/Nordic sounding voice actor' from a talent agency and go with it, they're not likely to audition 20 people for the best Aura voice.

Oddly enough, one of the goals of the revamp was (according to CCP Ghost) to establish an 'emotional connection' with the player base to increase immersion. Very few things are more emotionally connecting than the sound of a voice that players are going to hear repeated literally millions of times.

Is it hard to find a proper Aura replacement? I dunno, 15 seconds Google work found this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P1SjVW1RMc

Perhaps nobody on the CCP team could spare that 15 seconds with all the Ascension work that had to be done...

To be fair, I just ran through the NPE with the new Aura's voice, and even being used to the previous Aura I had no problem with her as the AI/Ship computer for the tutorial - speaking full sentences etc. she sounds fine.

I do agree that for the standard, we'll-hear-it-a-million-times messages (Warp Drive Active, Docking, Waypoint etc) her voice is a bit rushed and too nasal, also some of the starts are a bit clipped. Could be bad editing.

Haven't heard 'A module has run out of charges' yet (another one we hear a lot of) so reserving opinion on that one for later.
