Yeeeeah. Well. It turns out they do expect to play for free and can now. It's a new dynamic. Still, for my first couple of years at least I would rather have the ISK than the PLEX/Time Card. It's just worth more when you have very little and you are dying more frequently than you probably do as a vet.

Yah but that's not a good target. A noob indy packed with ore or mission garbage isn't worth the ammo. I don't shoot at them. Most other 'nado flyin' indy poppers I know are the same. They wait for the big haul. if you have 5 mil in garbage in an indy not even the catalysts are going for it. Most of the gankers I know in general have a policy against hitting noobs anyway. I've hit a few on accident and reimbursed them really well for their loss... because I remember what a setback that can be. ...except for this one guy that ran his mouth. He only received laughter.

I think you are grossly underestimating what a player with 5M SP, a Venture and a Cruiser can do. Heck, some incursion groups are thinking about how many Alphas to put in their fleets, and have long passed the stage of asking whether alphas will be able to run incursions - they certainly will. So, of course there will be Alphas in loot pinatas and alphas looking to buy PLEX on the market.

I also wouldn't mistake Alpha Clones for Noobs. Yes, there will be Noobs among them, and most likely a few eternal Noobs as well, but most of them will learn, and they will do the same things as Omegas. There will also be those switching from Omega to Alpha, because they now don't loose access to the forums if they can't pay their PLEX, there will be veterans that return, because the game is now free. It's naive to think that Alpha pilots will be noobs.

Worth pointing out that anyone who has ever played eve at any point, for any amount of time
that isn't currently subscribed will be an alpha clone in a couple of hours.
The assertion that the bemoaning will be alpha's isn't that much of a stretch,
That alpha's will be predominantly newbros however might well be.

Whatever the case, bemoan they shall, I would be worried were that not the case.

And I am still convinced we won't get many newbros. Most alphas will be returning veterans or veterans themselves in my opinion. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt I will be.

As always, anything aimed to help newbies will be helping old farts even more. Most "new players" are alts and nothing will change that.

Yes, Kaarous too.

Kaarous and Sol educating the new people in GD will be good.

That will help balance some of the others that will most likely return too.
