Rushed Drake, what now?

I rushed into a C3 with a T1 fitted drake, some scanning and salvaging skills and anchoring to 3 and some PI skills. It takes forever to run a C3 anom in a t1 fitted drake, but it worked. You learn quickly. As soon as you stop worrying about dying.. cause you will, then you will enjoy it. My first most valuable lesson, got podded doing it, was don't approach the wh to jump out, warp to zero. Train for some armor and hull repair mods.. so you can rep yourself in the pos. Have a scan alt, even on the same account, doesn't need great skills, so when you get podded, you can get back in. Remember too, that you can jump through a wh from within 5km. So if you jump in, always wait out the session timer, and you are agressed, jump out. Being able to warp cloaked is also important, Stealth Bombing ninja's is great fun, only thing to do if you solo, so bomb their drones and wrecks.
I will send you an evemail in game from an active, non troll, toon Shocked and will be happy to help with any questions.

Take a day to train a scanner alt, park it in the WH with you in case of emergency. The bookmark logistics are a bit funky though.

Alternatively use another account for scanning, but thats pushing what... pretty much everyone in a C1 can do.

Corporate bookmarks make managing bookmarks easy, just get your main and alt in the same (player) corp. Also, the scanner alt can double as salvager.

I am aware of this, and that is exactly the reason why i am trying to set the pace higher for me. I am what you can call a typical hardcore gamer who wants to reach end game content asap and aim for some achievement, whether PvP or PvE.

I understand. The problem with that mentality in EVE is that you simply cannot powerlevel your way to the higher level content like in most MMO's. Well to be fair in a way I guess you can by power-isking, and buyng high end toons.

Honestly, i am searching for some excitement, meaning: in my opinion, i don't have to be fully prepared till i feel i can take everything head on before i move on, just the basic is sufficient. Even if i lose a ship or two due my recklessness, i'll probably count it was worth it since i'll get a valuable lesson in exchange. A drake is not something you can't replace, its value is the main reason behind it's popularity i assume.

Right. But you talk about sitting around waiting for skills to train until you can find that "excitement" There is tons of challenging stuff to do at every levet. For example, if you want some challenge while waiting on your drake, go run the Sisters of EVE epic arc. I lost my first two ships in those missions (Tristan and vexor).

My main point is not to push yourself. Heck I moved into a WH way before anyone thought I should. And I realized I needed lots more skills to be successful. So I get the idea of wanting a challenge.

My main point to get across is that there are challenges to be found at all levels. And getting into the "I need to wait until i finish x skills before I can have fun" will ruin your enjoyment of the game.

It's kinda ironic, but now that you tell me that you needed 5 months to prepare for WH just urges to go there asap. x3
I feel that i have read enough about WHs (except for POS) for me to try it soon. Then again, i know i shouldn't rush it, but sometimes you can't help it.
Anyway, i'll keep you informed of my WH exploration experience (in 2 weeks) occasionally in game if you are interested.

It's all good. I always enjoy a chat, so feel free to ask anytime or give updates. I have gone through everything you are talking about, learning many things the hard (and expensive) way.

And stay away from this blog. It's what sent me down the WH path.

The thing is, even if things are relatively difficult to my current level. PvE at this point is totally predictible, you have nothing to stop you from warping, nothing from neuting. What is there to be afraid of if you know you can always warp out when things get nasty. Especially if you are shield tank since it's the first and main barrier that separates you and death.
I have bad gaming mentality that i am aware of and that's calculating how to spend my time wisely aka being efficient. For example: Why run this mission in 1 hour now if you can run this mission in half hour if you wait 2 days for your skills? And durning these 2 days i can research things i might need to know in the future. Even if i am aware of this, it is not something you can simple change.

Besides, if i really want to enjoy this game, i would need to find my place and friends, a home where i will belong. Real mates who care about you, ideally would be a small corp where everyone knows everyone. It's not easy to find someone you like to fly with at this level since most people of my corp are playing way longer and i really don't want to drag them down. Whilst hating to rely on someone, i'd rather want to have people rely on me. Hopefully this will explain my rush and wanting to spread my wings as a chick.

Also, isn't the site a little over-filled with articles. It isn't something i can read in 1 day, but i'll definitely take a peek now and then :3

Thank you, useful information, however, i think i'll wait a little before going to C3, first things come first: C1, 2.
Also, might i ask what you mean by ''So if you jump in, always wait out the session timer, and you are agressed, jump out. Being able to warp cloaked is also important, Stealth Bombing ninja's is great fun, only thing to do if you solo, so bomb their drones and wrecks.''

Session timers run every time you jump through gates, wh, dock etc This and this will help. Also some good you tube vids on session timers, scanning, using dscan, putting up posses etc.

Cause you can't always? The SOE arc has a mission with scrams. It is the place the most noobs lose their first ship (PVE at least).

Honestly it sounds like you would dig faction warfare. Even in the missions you can get jumped by people of the other faction. Plus PVP sounds like it might be your thing. It is definitely a good rush.

WH life may actually not be. The PVE aspect of WH's can get dreadfully boring. The sites are all the same. It's all just about clearing them as fast as possible. But even with the potential threat of PVP, they get insanely dull. At least with missions you get some variety.

As long as you are cool with it, that's all that matters. I run the missions now because I enjoy playing the game, at whatever level I am at. And I will enjoy seeing how much faster I go 2 days later. To each his own however.

Again, Faction warfare may be a good start. It brings in people from all levels, but especially newer players. Ships of all levels are useful. Even a T1 frigate setup as fast tackle can mean the difference between a kill and one that got away.

If you are set on wormholes, I would not try to live in one solo. I would find a wormhole corp. they are usually small and very tight knit. Plus you can then enjoy the fun aspects without dealing with the hassles (POS upkeep etc).

^That was also what i had planned. Run missions + R&B first (using caracals and blackbirds), after i get a general idea of how things work i'll switch over to FW.
By then, i should have most basic skills trained up :3

Thank you, i already had an impression that such thing existed, but i know how it works now =)

Small question concerning FW, Caldari and Minmatar are losing a lot territory (dotlan), does this mean that i'd most likely lose on the side of Cal/Minm?

1) If you are REALLY hard core, then you may entertrain the idea to just make the cash with trading and buy an already skilled pilot for some billions. Of course you'll miss the "on the field" experience.

2) FW last time I played it (yes I did basically everything possible in EvE by my 1st year Big smile) was Minmatar + Gallente vs Amarr + Caldari.

The mechanics is like other "RvR" games a la DAoC or Warhammer Online. 1-3 realms (depends on MMO) have a "campaign" whose objective is to take as much territory off the opposing realm as possible. In some MMOs you also have a "winning stage" where you invade the opposing realm capital city.
