Is it cheaper to sell items in citadels?

I have perfect standings with an NPC corp that I've been selling with, but I notice there was an open citadel in the system letting people sell goods in it.

If I sell there will I pay less taxes and broker fees than selling in the NPC station?

Short answer is it depends on the settings of the individual citadel. Many of them are cheaper than NPC stations, particularly some that have been setup in systems close to the major trade hubs, as they are trying to establish volume to make ISK.

So check the citadels you are interested in potentially using and you'll see on an individual basis.

You may be able to pay less taxes and fees; taxes and fees are determined by the player or corp who owns the citadel.

But is it cheaper? The entire economy, and almost everything on the market - prices are set by other players. So they may have exorbitant prices even if the taxes are smaller. Pay 1 million ISK and 5% tax for a frigate, vs. pay 4 million ISK and 1% tax for the same frigate. Tax is smaller, but item isn't cheaper.
