Minimum budget mission fleets

I know the best way of completing missions is usually the fastest and most thorough way, but I got thinking, what is the cheapest fleet composition for completing some of the more challenging level 4 missions. Can Blockade or some other high end missions be completed with a budget fleets worth less than 10 or 20mil? How low can you go? What kind of fleet comp would you go with?

It could be an interesting competition or event to do Frig or budget mission fleet comps.

Assuming you are talking lv4, I don't think 20M will work. A single cruiser will cost you at least that, and it won't be able to run a Lv. 4 Blockade. My thought would be to fit a swarm of T1 Navitases, let them sig/spider-tank and slowly drone through the rats. However, even a really cheap Navitas with a Hobgoblin II is 2.5M ISK if it's supposed to work, (rigs are expensive) so with a budget limit of 20M you can only get 8 of them, for a total damage output of barely 160DPS or so.

Maybe you could have other types of frigates with more DPS spider-tank, but it would be really hard to keep them all in range and moving (and they'd need to move to not die right away), or maybe take 5 Navitases and a couple of el-cheapo Tristans.

Actually, as pointless as such a fleet would be, it sounds fun. It would be a bit like an incursion - stay close to the logis, focus fire, broadcast early.

As above, ultimately it's a matter of delivering enough total DPS, while resisting damage from the NPC's. 20M may not be sufficient, but 30M might. Or maybe 20M is sufficient for most L4 missions but not Angel Extravaganza or Worlds Collide.

Bunch of Alphas running L4's, heh.

Tristans and vexors, tormentors and arbitrators will be your best options for this sort of thing. Ironically you dont have to actually do much just assign drones to one cruiser and then keep at range of the npcs in a mission space. This will be boring for everyone involved though as only one guy has to work at anything, the FC calling targets for the drone swarm or telling people to recall drones or assign new ones as the old ones die.

Wait.... thats like null sec fleets....BlinkRollTwisted

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Ya, around 10 Tristans, T1 fit, maybe a couple frig logi too and you can probably pull off 800 dps, be able to sit at range, and be able to purchase it all for close to 15 mil, maybe less. That may be the baseline for pulling it off. Going lower, and with less ships or different tactics then starts to become the challenge.

I'm not sure what the point of that price limitation would be. I think that 20 Million would be too restrictive.

I would be guessing that a 4 ship cruiser squadron would probably be adequate. With some combination of damage dealers and a logistics cruiser. Though one tech I fitted cruiser alone would cost 20 Million. Bringing your total squadron value to 80 Million. Perhaps a Rail Thorax, Heavy Drone Vexor, and Exequror?

The best you will get for 20 Million is four Tech I destroyers, and two tech I frigates. I'd suggest an Algos + Tristan MWD, railgun, and droneboat kiting fleet, and using the Navitas for logistics.... However, I have no idea whether this would actually work. I think that the DPS to ISK ratio for Algos droneboat is slightly higher than the Tristan, so I would be recommending that hull form.

Think of it as if it's for a contest or tournament. The team that completes the mission with the cheapest ships wins. How would you do it? and how low could you go?

It's a big secret to some that rookie ships can be t2 fitted.
While one can do L1 missions, not sure how many would be needed to kill BS rats and they have no tank.
Now a small flock of Ibises with jams backed by Velators and Reapers could kill a few players though.
That would be cool.
