Yesterday, I changed the email address of one of my accounts from a none verified address (I don't have any access to anymore) to my regular email address and verified it without any problems.

That was yesterday. GM response said the login alteration has caused unforeseen issues with email in this scenario.

For clarification, i want to use current email.

You don't have to verify again. And that you have to file a support ticket when you don't have access to the old address any more is logical or otherwise a hacker can easily hijack your account because he can change the email.

No, I don't need my account updated thank you. If it becomes impossible to play without verifying, then that's what'll happen. Lost income.

Because they verify your account through your email, in case someone hacks into it and changes the password, it gives you an email letting you know. A lot of services on the internet do this. Either it's worth maintaining an email, or it isn't.

... and then this 'someone' hacks your email....

If it's already verified, then you need to do nothing.

Take five seconds and update your information like you would for any other internet thing you use.

then i wouldnt expect you to be salty if you get hacked and ccp dont help because you like freedom so much

bear in mind, if you don't have access to the email, you won't be able to log in, when it sends the email to that address, with a token you'll need to hand over. (unless you're using all up 2FA. which you should be)

This. I have an old email with my account I cannot access. And now I cannot change the email address associated with my account.

I guess I'll need to submit a ticket too.

You can't change email without access to the old one!

You have to try with a ticket, or lose the account.

What about those who dont even know you have to verify it now and they are unsubscribed, and what will be if they would want to log in after the date is over?

Answers to some of the questions above:

1. You have to verify it again because CCP have flagged all the emails to be re-verified. It's a pain in the butt, complain your annoyance to them, burn Jita, whatever.

2. Verifying the email is very easy: log into Account Management with your id and password and go into Account Details. You'll see your name, email, etc. By the email you'll see "! This email needs to be verified. Click here to verify this email." Click there. This works for active accounts, trial accounts, old accounts, everything.

3. People who no longer have access to their emails or have trouble with the process have already been advised, twice, by ISD reps to open support tickets. Let CCP worry about "too many support tickets" and "not being able to handle them", it's not your job to worry. They're providing a service, you pay a subscription fee for this service, you're entitled to have access to speedy tech support.

And the new update to the eve launcher broke it, and now it crashes every time I open it. They really don't want people to play EO..

Change your e-mail entry on the account, silly. I lost access to a student account many moons ago. I just changed the e-mail to my new one.

Lost income, from some idiot who can't play with a valid email address.

Yes, if you're all set, the only thing you'll see in Account Management is a small green button by your email address.

You have to validate your email address because of Alpha clones. To prevent abuse of Alpha clones they will be preventing you from logging in with another account while logged into an Alpha. They are likely using email addresses to help with that.

While creating a new email address isn't hard, verifying email addresses at least prevents low-effort attempts at Alpha abuse.

That's incorrect. Create a new free account right now and try to log in with that account while logged into a payed account. You can't do it because it detects the already running paid account and prevents it.

Therefore they do not need your email info to do it.

So, what overrides what?

I fly approx 200,000 miles a year for work.

I login from my cell phone (one att, one verizon, plus vodaphone when in europe) I login from free wifi in airports, various airport clubs, hotels, airlines etc

So, every time I change IP, I have to re verify 43 ******* accounts, are you insane?

I have 2FA on my main accounts, but not on all of them

Will having the launcher with the blue tacks ticked keep me from having to do it, or will I have to sit there and re verify every account, every time I change IP?

What about every time the ******* launcher loses my accounts? (when I lose signal for whatever reason and the red boxes appear in the launcher, it erases everything)

Sometimes, I don't have decent internet, just getting email is a chore

Somehow this plan is looking worse and worse the more i think about it, even if I agree with the premise of the plan.

Maybe this is CCP's solution to people who take multi boxing too far beyond reason.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?
