Fps/stuttering with multiple clients

So I've been routinely running 3 clients at max with my current setup the past year. Gtx 970, 4670k OC to 4.5, 16gb ram, and 144hz monitor. Lately whenever I open my second client my cpu usage goes insane with stuttering and it just makes for an overall unpleasant game experience when multi boxing. This has been fine for the past year but the past 2 weeks has just started. Any ideas? I don't think it's hardware related

Edit: I play at 1080p res, anti aliasing off, and resource cache enabled
