So.. with these new boosts that we're going to be getting.. Are they going to be stronger or weaker than the current ganglinks that we're getting now.. or will they be the same?

I'm primarily wondering about mining boosts.. Are mining boosts going to be stronger or weaker? I mean considering now people are gonna have to actually have their booster on grid in order to receive a boost I would assume CCP is either making the ships faster at warping or giving stronger boosts or something since they're now actually in harms way.

Strength, duration and range of boosts will vary depending on skills and implants as they do now. The entry level mining command ship (Porpoise) will be an order of magnitude less expensive than an Orca and will be able to mine as well as boost. The Orca is much improved - 3 times the ore capacity, ability to mine as much as an Exhumer, bonuses for shield boost and remote shield repair, battleship class dps.

An AFK pilot can no longer boost an entire system from the safety of a POS. That was a broken mechanic, we've known it was eventually going to be fixed for years and now it's happening. I think CCP have given us an excellent replacement.

If I believe Sisi, the orca boosts went slightly up (Max boost skill+implant orca) : Range is buffed by 80,9% (73,31% now) and duration is lowered by 40,4% (32,34% now)

However, the Orca mostly benefitted from the monstrous buff to its shield, cargo, shield command bonus and drone buff. If you actually bring it in belts (as I do), you're going to love the changes

Thanks for the replies :)

also is anyone able to give like a spreadsheet on the numbers of boosts before and after the changes? or is there a spreadsheet out there already I just haven't found? I've been searching Reddit n such but no luck.

Just looking for the numbers on like a before the update and after the update in terms of like lasers range and duration. Obviously Saeko Allas-Rui gave bonuses for the Orca but what about the Rorqual? What ranges will my lasers get then with maxed skills n stuff before and after and how much more will I be making etc.

The Dev Blog gives all of the new numbers, assuming you currently use those boosts/can use EFT I'm sure you can figure out the old ones. Does it matter what the old ones are, they will be gone in a few days so whether you bring stuff on grid should be entirely based on what you get not what you used to get .

yield for my hulk was reduced by 15% due to skill/mining foreman i,plant change but it was made up for with 15% reduced cycle time. My hulk now has 61.5 sec cycle with 1462 m3 yield, I was doing 69.9 seconds with 1681 m3 yield.

The range was increased by 1 km to 33km.

My skills are maxed.
