What ship for ded 5 and above

Currently i am doing sansha 5/10's and above i am in a tengu but also have at hand my golem and rattlesnake i love missiles and torps and the range factor, i think this is in away limiting my game and i want to try out a different race ship from caldari and a different weapon system be it guns or lasers.
So before i waste loads of isk and buy the wrong ship and modules i'd like to ask in here what ship/fit would be best to try out and what weapons. I am a solo player so there will be no backup to aid me. Isk per hour or blitzing are not important to me just yet. I have very good drone skills and my gunnery skills are almost maxed out.
Range and tank would be nice so given the above info what are my best optiions.
Any fits and help greatly appreciated.

Paladin has great damage projection. Legion gets wrecked in some unrated sites with lots of tracking disruption, but its fine otherwise.

I'm currently trying out drone Proteus. Not bad, good AFK potential, but not that great either.

Can do any Lowsec site without bling (extra tank required for the Sansha Annex) however you need to drag the Overseer in a 6/10 to break his tank. its Pretty cheap (1/3 of the Legion above), You can fit a MWD for travel and use the Cloak MWD trick to get around, it has better range (29+39 vs 31+19) and it can also handle spider drones (which the Legion cant, without a double web fit)

It does however lag behind in DPS (60-70) and slightly more of that is not EM/Therm.

This is my 6/10 fit. Its best to add a EANM or EM Resistance for the 5/10. Just sick the drones on frigs and work on the BS down.

I'd use a Paladin for sure, awesome damage application and good tank without a single implant in active clone.
Test it out on SISI before you invest in anything on TQ. :)

Throwing in a few fits just as a reference to different possibilities.

This fit is for fighting at range, make use of the MJD and kill from 100-50km, it is omni tanked but that still give about 1460 DPS tank against Sansha rats without any booster pill.

I have used it for both 5 and 6/10 so yeah it seems to work. That being said it was maybe 1 or 2 of each as I found Sansha space a bit less hostile (or at least I knew who was who in the zoo there)

Might be worth while sticking a battery on though as I remember cap was a pain.

The only things that eat cap in 5/10s and 6/10s are Harbingers and Archbishops. They're both weak sauce as far as neuts go and only drain out to 30km. Wouldn't stress it.
