for risk vs reward they're not worth the trouble at all whatsoever
I have never got anything good out of them at all

they seriously need to be more rewarding

I basically force myself to do it so better sites will spawn

the reward is basically the same everywhere around 3mill to 500k if you get buyers for that garbage

If the risk is so low that you can hang around spawning sites, how can your low reward be inappropriate?

You jump way too quickly into your roleplaying. Better rewards means more explorers in space with higher value loot in their cargoholds, giving you jucier targets to gank.

You forgot...code is stuck in a loop of obsessed chronic concentrated miner griefing, it gives them purpose, kinda sad when you consider that most of their game revolves around this and paying to make this the center of what they do.

Also, yeah doing data sites, nah, I was in low sec hacked a can and got 10 pieces of carbon, I haven't returned to low sec nor go into WH because what I see being pulled out of cans.

the very very rare augmented drone bp used to make up for it. but their value is so low now that even that perk has gone

I don't think that they suck. Especially if you are into invention yourself, they ensure a high degree of self-sustainability independent from the market and allow you to increase your final product profits a fair bit by valuing your datacore/decryptor lower than market value.

They also have the advantage that, compared to relic sites, no one camps Data sites. You can run them even with neutrals in system while they sit in the relic sites in system, waiting for customers.

@Ncc These blueprints only drop in Drone Region data sites. But you brought up a nice point: If you make Data sites more rewarding (by increasing drop rates), the dropped items lose value, because the demand for them does not automagically increase as well (if at all), which in turn reduces the reward of the data sites yet again and probably to an even lower level than before the change.

I believe somewhere deep in some comment, there will be another tweak to data sites in the november patch. Was on reddit in the eve vegas Q&A I think?

I have no idea what it is, and I cannot provide a link. I didnt get the sense it was a HUGE buff, but another baby step in the right direction.

If you find your data sites' loot to be of too little value, shoot some of the corresponding FW farmers, e.g. guristas sites -> Calmil.
If I am correct, those guys might have the strongest influence on the price of datacores atm.

They need to increase subsystems datacore usage, and start using the high-tech small arms to bump data loot values.
