Hi,

I've been looking for an answer for this issue for several hours now, searching through the forums, Google, and even posting a support ticket.

First of all, let me go through the guidelines for posting on this forum:

- Has this issue/question already been discussed?
I've seen a lot of topics on the subject, but none of the solutions have worked for me (I'll go into details later)

- Did the issue arise after an update to the game?
I don't know, I just installed the game. I've been playing a lot back in 2009/2010 and 2013, but stopped playing after that and until today. I'm trying to play the game on a new computer on which the game has never been installed.

- Even if you encounter an issue that seems to be known to the developers then please do take the time to submit a bug report.
Already done, but I didn't get any answer.

Now, for the actual issue:
I've installed the game by downloading and using the launcher, and the resources file (here: https://binaries.eveonline.com/EVEResources.7z). Everything went smoothly without any errors.
I then started the launcher, and was able to login without any issues too.
Now, when I try to launch the game (either by clicking on the 'play' icon next to my account, or with the 'Play' button underneath), the icon changes to the 'stop' like button, and then nothing happens.
I've checked my task manager, and I can see the the exefile.exe has been started, but it's just staying there, silent, and the game never starts.

I got to specify that the play button isn't greyed out, I'm able to click on it and supposedly start the game, and the exefile.exe doesn't actually crash or anything, it's just there, but doing nothing (apparently).

I've used LogLite to try to understand what is happening, and I see 6 'red' errors, the last one being:

EXCEPTION #2 logged at 11/07/2016 14:30:40 : Unhandled exception in TaskletExt object at 5b41e68, abps=1001, ctxt=None

EXCEPTION END

There is no other logs (of any color) after that, so I guess that's where the client hangs.
What's weird is that it looks like a Python error to me, but if that's the case, I suppose I shouldn't be the only one having the issue.

Here is what I've tried to fix the issue (based from forum posts, Google finds etc):
- Setting compatibilty mode to Windows 7 and 8 for all exe involved (launcher, exefile in tq/bin)
- "Run as administrator" for all exe involved (launcher, exefile in tq/bin)
- "Fix permissions" in "Shared cache settings"
- "Verify" in "Shared cache settings" (no corrupted files)
- Deleting the 'tq' folder and let the launcher rebuild the cache folder
- Uninstalled my version of Python (you never know :p)
- Deinstalling / Reinstalling in administrator
- Moving the cache folder to another place
- Disabling Avast
- Updating Nvidia drivers
- Updating DirectX
- Updating Microsoft redistributable packages

And finally, here is my setup:
- Intel core i7-3770
- 8Gb RAM
- Windows 10 64bits
- SSD 500Gb
- NVidia GeForce GTX 760 - 4Gb RAM

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I miss the game and really want to get back into it.

I am also having this same issue. There was an error with the update to the launcher. I went through the update process again and it worked without issues. Now it lets me log in but not launch any games.

At least I'm not alone :p

Do you have the exact same error in LogLite?

I'm trying a different approach now, I'm reinstalling the game, but I let the launcher download all the files instead of using the resources file.

Well, not better with the launcher downloading the files itself...
Still the same issue.

Just to let you know, I got an answer for my ticket from Spider.
I was asked to submit DxDiag and Launcher logs, I'll let you know if a solution is found.

If it's any help I was having the same issue, then I tried connecting to singularity, which worked, then switched back to tq and was able to connect.

Thanks for the tip, it didn't work though :(

I've got the same issue whatever server I try.

I found the solution...

As the logs suggested, the client was using an old version of a Python library here:
C:/Users/Yougli/AppData/Roaming/Python/Python27/site-packages/requests-2.7.0-py2.7.egg/requests/__init__.py(58) module
C:/Users/Yougli/AppData/Roaming/Python/Python27/site-packages/requests-2.7.0-py2.7.egg/requests/utils.py(25) module

I don't know why these files stayed here although I specially uninstalled Python from my computer, and why Eve thought it was a good idea to use my own Python library, but the case is closed, I was able to launch the game after deleting all the Python related files from my AppData directory.
