EVE Portal, the EVE Online Mobile app, has been released today as an open beta for both Android and iPhone. This first iteration of EVE Portal will include base level of functionality, with more to come in the future.

Read and write mail, receive in-game notifications, check your character training, purchase PLEX and AUR, track the calendar ... all via EVE Portal.

Can we get access to the apk please? The google play store is saying my device is not compatible. I have a Samsung Note 2. There shouldnt be any compatibility issues with this phone.

And what about EVE Gate? You said that it would go away, being replaced with this App eventually. Is this still a thing? And if so, how are people supposed to access mail or profile customization (I still hate the Sansha forum background picture and change it to the Amarr Legion picture via EVE Gate because the forum profile does not allow customization, funny thing from the web guys, by the way. Roll) if you cannot have the app and the app does not support this kind of functionalities?

One thing though: The UI guys from EVE should take a lesson at your office. While both EVE and this app use the same crappy monochrome icons, in the App's UI you see which section/functionality is actually active because the icon changes color. Kudoz for that. Blink This should have been a thing for the actual EVE UI when they changed the icons. *adds another half finished feature to his personal list*

It's showing as not compatible with my Motorola Driod MAXX or my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Are you going to add more support along the way?

edit: i know is a beta and suposed to have some bugs but every single thing i try to do gives an error.

24+h later edit: app is neat, looks awesome and is functional. it has some issues on mobile data but on wifi usualy works flawlesly.
i'm looking forward to see how it gets improved and more features added.

A couple of things, first off - I dislike having the mobile app require you to login without being able to use an external browser where I have my account names passwords saved. Doing this through the app is quite a pain when you have to add each character/account. I would have considered it enough if I could have done it through another browser on my Phone. What I really would have liked is being able to add accounts from eve account management or something similar to the mobile application itself.

Second, I dislike having to add each character manually - why not allow us to select all characters?

Other than that, It's an early release so I look forward to the features provided, and maybe you can sneak something like I mentioned in at a later stage.

I, too, am unable to retrieve (my) character.

Also having to type in my character-name without "looking" made me unhappy: http://i.imgur.com/Zlx8r3T.png (Maybe there is a solution I haven't thought about?)

nice start of a very promising app!

My reasons to use such an app would be (and hope to see it someday implemented)...

- Market manipulation (even if just adjustments to existing orders)
-Simple planetary interaction say, restarting extractors

As a person who'd like to use this stuff quite often, and as a person that wants to use its IT devices for more than 1 or 2 years and checks for sustainability on purchase I am utterly disappointed that this app is only compatible to Android 5.0 upwards.
