Thanks, Shah.

13kr1d1, the official explanation by CCP was in the Evelopedia, but they removed the Evelopedia, so you'll have to trust that the EVE University Wiki, and other players who posted in the past about this, were / are not lying.

If you don't trust anyone, then you can test it yourself in-game, because cargo expanders don't have a stacking penalty.

So take an industrial, look at its base cargo hold as listed on the market, add Expanded Cargohold II's to the low slots, and figure it out.

Take a Nereus, 2700 m3 base cargo, 5 low slots for Expanded Cargohold II modules (27.5% bonus), and 5% bonus per level from the Gallente Industrial skill. No rigs (make it cheaper to test in-game, as you can sell back everything and get your ISK back).

2700 * 1.25 (industrial skill bonus) * 1.275 * 1.275 * 1.275 * 1.275 * 1.275 = 14498.89 m3 cargo space, or
2700 with (25% + 27.5% + 27.5% + 27.5% + 27.5% + 27.5% bonuses) = 2700 with (162.5% bonus) = 7087.5 m3?

EFT says 11372,

That's because Memphis multiplied it once too much.

2700 x 1.25 = 3375
3375 x 1.275 = 4303.125
4303.125 x 1.275 = 5486.484
5486.484 x 1.275 = 6995.267
6995.267 x 1.275 = 8918.966
8918.966 x 1.275 = 11371.68

Still, pointing out the error in that math is hardly constructive for the case you were trying to make.

So you require proof from everyone else yet it is completely ok for you to just sit back and take pot shots at everyone else with no proof yourself?

If you wanted to "prove" everyone else wrong then figure out how you think the math works and then go in game and fit the ship out and screenshot the numbers to back up what you say.

I'm not saying that I've never posted wrong information here and been corrected. This game is complex and pretty much everyone has aspects of this game that they think they understand but are actually confused upon. You could find the true answer educate all of us or you could just choose to be lazy like me and give up on the situation. Demanding that everyone else do your research for you and then arguing with them when they do, with no clarification or corrected info is hardly constructive.

Quoted for truth. Sometimes I'm glad that the people can't see me blushing so hard when they disabuse me of an incorrect preconception.

And yea, It's absurd to demand another person to prove their answers when the challenger has done nothing of the sort.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Yes,

The Covetor makes a big difference. After switching from the Procurer to my Covetor. I now use the Covetor for all my hi-sec mining where the Security status is 0.7 or higher. The increased yield, and the ability to fit 3 x laser upgrade modules in the low slots makes a big difference to yield. The small hold capacity is negated with the use of an MTU, and Miasmos. With this combination and solo mining, it is quite possible to completely clean out an asteroid belt with this ship in an hour... Which, incidentaly, is the same amount of time which you should wait before collecting your jetcans and MTU.

There are however some precautions which must be taken with this ship. and it also needs to be micromanaged to empty the hold at the correct times. Also, compared to the Procurer it is really slow to align and warp. So you want to be mining aligned and watching your D-scan at 10 AU. This is not an AFK mining ship.
