How to get rid of forum preview tooltip/balloon?

I have the habit of hovering my mouse above the topic i *might* be interested to click, as i easily loose track of vertical rows from left to right on my big screen.

When the tooltip appears, it overlaps on the following three topics so i have to move my mouse again in order to "advance".
Is it possible to disable the popup preview that appears when you hover the pointer above the topic?

i now go slap myself a bit for not using the search function properly....
