corp motd getting sliced in half after spending 2 hours making it

why does my corp motd keep getting cut in half all my links dissapear before i log off a reloaded motd to make sure everything look fine i log on today half of it gone this is the 5th time its happened im getting ppissed off having to remember links over and over it has to be glitch because its not saying who lasted edit it it just blank ccp please restore my motd i cant remember everything i put there this 5th time it happen your game keeps doing it to me i reload it it works fine then it deletes half of is self not portions littarlly the bottom half every time and why is it not posting who edit motd last what is this glitch can u put my motd the way it was please thank you stop messing with it like if its someone in the corp its meant to say who edit it last and its not so the game fning up please help this is doing me really bad right now when im ceo of a corp and cant spend 2 hours 3 because i have to search rememer everything try to type it the same

wtf my chat channel motd did it aswell im not over my letter limit wtf heeellllp me please give me what i typed back this isnt even me its the game its not saying who edit post it will post it fine then change it it self after please why please give me what i typed is it just not showing? is it still there i didnt delete it i still had 1000 characters left to type

Take an hour or two to calm down.
File a petition.
Make sure to use punctuation in your petition so CCP will have no difficulty understanding your problem.

yeah mabey i put 5 years of commitment into this game its the dumb crap like this that ruins everything that makes me want to say **** it all but i dont plus mabey because i spent like 5000 on ccps fps game in like wtf so much money why cant things just work

ps i messaged and sent help tickets all the time in dust no punctuation ccp quickly responed day or two with adiquite help im just like wtf tho right now

i have a ticket in but i notice these guys take 4 days on eve now not fast like dust i dont have 4 days to have my corp mtod deleted everyday and i want it back the way it was tho

First, calm down.
Second, why,aren't you using copy-paste for such a long project? Y'know... back ups and shiz.
Third... if an MOTD issue is getting to you that bad maybe itsome time to take a few days off? Just,submit a report and give it a couple days.X

OP chill out. EVE chat system (and MOTD is just a part of it) is outdated beyond measure.
While we all wait for improvements (I hope someday CCP will acknowledge that chat code should be redone), you can follow some simple steps to avoid unnecessary frustration.

First download Notepad++
Next, edit your MOTD and use as less text color selection and other tags as possible - they eat real character limit really fast. EVE editor never shows all hidden tags and properties, but they also count in the end but never counted by counter.


When you feel that MOTD is almost complete - do not submit! Right click on the text and select "Copy All". Then paste all MOTD text to the Notepad++ and that is where real editing begins. You will see real character count so just trim all excessive text beyound 4000 limit and then paste everything back. As a bonus, you can mess with custom colors using hex values.

Or put most of it in the corporation bulletins - where it probably belongs and reserve MOTD for a single message of the day. If it scrolls off the chat window, no one is going to read it anyway.

Thats cause your ticket isnt a priority.

Which seems more important?

OMG a game breaking bug is preventing me from moving my ship and i am stuck inside a planet, unable to move or play the game completely!

Or

OMG my motd is ******. Ive had 2 people ask me about it and i didnt bother to save it on a notepad someplace so i have to go dumpster diving to find the links again. WTF im unable to completely respond but still am capable of mining, mission running, pvping, and everything else!

Heh. You sound like an angry 11 year old.

How are you the CEO of a corp but can't write properly? Is this why your MOTD took 3 hours to write?

Have you checked your MOTD is under the maximum character limit? If you exceeded the limit, it would automatically cut off the excess characters.

Also, yes why did you not think to copy paste your MOTD to notepad by the 4th time it had been deleted?
