Long ago, I suggested THIS IDEA for integrating DUST 514 and Incursions. But with DUST 514 dead, I suppose the claim now passes to Legion as the successor.

Long-short of it, I'm hoping that Legion/Nova will integrate incursions into its gameplay, especially if they intend to cross-link Legion with EVE.

While capsuleers in space fight Sansha in orbit, Legion personnel can hit Sansha on the ground, attacking planetary abduction sites, Sansha landing zones, or making targets for orbital strikes.

See more of my suggestions from the old days here.

Note: I might be a little outdated on my intel...I originally made this topic under the assumption that Legion/Nova and EVE were to be connected much like DUST 514 was to EVE for orbital bombardments...and we've heard very little of Legion/Nova's development other than the name-change...

Recommendations:

-enable ships wobbling in hangar view (pre-Captains Quarters)

-add more missions (NPC fleet vs. NPC fleets that actually shoot)

-STOP NERFING EVERYTHING!

Still, if we're talking in-game content, which alot of us have been asking for, I think this is one way to sync up the two universes.

I'm excited to see what the future holds. How 'bout yall?

last time CCP tried to sync two games we got a god awful mess that added nothing but tedium and grind that you had no direct control over.

Yeah, but that was cross-platforming. Legion/Nova is going to be on PC. It should be easier on all of us now.

It's not going to happen. There is no plan to link the two.

Nova is just an FPS in space. Not connected to Eve in current design.

would much rather a strong independent game be made rather than a messy gimmick

This.

I'm ALL FOR INTEGRATION. However, I think doing that integration out of the box (as well as its questionable use as a selling point for a PS3 title) was a mistake for DUST.

I'd rather see Nova be a really good game on its own, and then, after it has had some time to prove its longevity and veracity, THAT is when you start thinking about integration, what it means for both communities, and how you can add a new feature set to connect two games that already have a solid base and community so they can interact with one another, and both sides actually get something new and fun added to an already new and fun game rather than something that's meh for one side and sort of imbalanced for the other.

Letting them stand alone means you don't have thos appearance of a "lesser tier" or "parasite" of a game. The idea of a purely economic integration to start with is really solid and simple. Can you, an EVE player, using existing EVE systems, outproduce NPC prices for Nova gear, assuming that you, and EVE player, need Nova players to provide some of the materials?

That sort of "off grid" integration is potentially the strongest way CCP can integrate any of these properties. Adding avenues for warfare over PI, but only if you have a special infantry hub int the colony or something for instance where the Nova players could directly sell you PI mats they get as loot maybe, etc. would mean you have entities creating content for the other game, but that neither end of that connection is actually dependant on the other.

However, for any of that integration to work, that shooter has to prove it has legs that make its community reliable enough as a fixture in the universe to be part of that interchange of content generation.

Or, basically, Think of integration like adding wspace to EVE. EVE was a working model. They added Wspace, and it didn't fundamentally CHANGE that model. It creates some different options, different opportunities, but the existing game still functioned mostly unchanged. That's how I'd like to see integration happen. Take two games that are already working well alone, then add an optional subset of systems that create opportunities for people that WANT to interact without requiring that interaction to fully enjoy either game by itself.
