"Gallente skills" training complete! The best ships to get?

Hi!

I have just finished a quite long training plan! As a matter of fact I wanted to move my "Gallente skills" (spaceship command, hybrid turrets and drones) up to get them on par with Caldari ones. That is why I finished training of:

- Gallente battleship, cruiser & frigate V
- Light, Medium & Heavy Drone Operation V
- Sentry Drone Interfacing V
- Drone Sharpshooting V
- Advanced Drone Avionics IV
- Drone Interfacing IV
- all racial drone specializations III
- large & medium hybrid turrets V

So now I can fly Gallente ships quite efficiently, I suppose. Yet I do not know what Gallente T2 & T2 frigate/cruiser hulls are worth getting in the current meta?

First, what do you want to do in game?

The obvious skills are engineering/navigation, since they should be high regardless of what race you're flying.

Training a proteus to at least level 4 and all gallente subsystems to level 5 seems like an obvious next step, regardless of what you want to do in game.

If it were me I'd get into a proteus, ishtar, and arazu, if you can't fly those three already

My core skills are quite good.

Proteus is Gallente strategic cruiser. I own Tengu now. Is Proteus any better in PvE?

Ishtar! I heard it is great but it was nerfed a bit not so long ago. Still OP? What drones to field?

Arazu & Tristan - I do not know anything about those two. I must look at them first. :)

Everything I mentioned was PvP focused. A proteus is nearly worthless in PvE, but it makes one of the best cloaky hunters in the game for PvP. Arazu can point ships at 60k+ away, so it's a great tackler in fleets.

Ishtar is still good for PvE, it's debatable whether it's worth the price tag over a vexor navy issue for that purpose, however

Here you are Gallente T2/T3 ships I can fly now:

- cruisers: Ishtar, Phobos, Deimos, Arazu, Lachezis, Proteus
- frigates: Enyo, Ishkur, Helios, Nemezis, Ares, Taranis, Thalia

I cannot fly logistic cruiser Oneiros and EWAR frigate Keres. Also I can use all T2 drone types except some logistic drones.

Not bad at all!

@up: Yes! It took me three months to complete this training queue.

OK! I have flown some level 4 missions to purchase Proteus and Ishtar. Now I have both ships and two questions:

- Proteus: rail or drone boat?
- Ishtar: sentry or heavy drones?

Do you know any good fits? I'd like to use Ishtar as high/low-set combat sites runner and Proteus as null-sec DED sites runner.

ishtar is good as well to rat in null sec.
use the heavies with the configuration: 2 gecko, 2 medium, 1 light

proteus for ded sites i dunno.... it can for sure complete them, the only question is if efficiently enough.
most people use a tengu for those.

proteus with rail is often used in pvp.
with drones i dunno... you'll have to try it :)

i'd suggest you to join a good corp and learn from someone that is already doing those stuff.
it's the easy way :)
for sure they'll have fits ready for both of those ships.
(100 MN ishtar is common)

eventually you can check the killboard to see what fits people generally use etc and make your own ideas!

Boring! It's only t2 and t3.

Wait until t4 and t5 then t6 and t7 and in 2177 comes t46 then t47 - going to be killer man..

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Well, in the meantime I built my own PvE fits for Proteus and Ishtar against Gurista and Serpentis rats. Here you are:

[Proteus, Null-sec DED runner]

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor Thermal Hardener II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Armor Kinetic Hardener II

Republic Fleet Large Cap Battery
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
10MN Afterburner II

250mm Railgun II, Javelin M
250mm Railgun II, Javelin M
250mm Railgun II, Javelin M
250mm Railgun II, Javelin M
250mm Railgun II, Javelin M
250mm Railgun II, Javelin M

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit II
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Medium Anti-Thermal Pump I

Proteus Defensive - Nanobot Injector
Proteus Propulsion - Localized Injectors
Proteus Engineering - Power Core Multiplier
Proteus Offensive - Hybrid Propulsion Armature
Proteus Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer

Hammerhead II x5

damage - 800 DPS (650 DPS rails +150 DPS drones)
tank - 1600 DPS cap-stable vs Guristas

Main drawback of this fit is very low cargo space so it can carry only 3k railgun ammo which is insufficient to run any DED in null-sec. Therefore for null-sec DEDs I recommend replacing one of Armor Hardeners with Expanded Cargohold II and use deadspace medium armor repairer. As a result Proteus can carry 9k rail ammo which is enough while still possessing good tank (1500 DPS vs Guristas and 1000 DPS vs Serpentis).

Proteus drone fit can reach stupidly huge amount of tank like 2500 DPS against Guristas but I am not sure drones can survive DED fights with so many rats and without them Proteus is useless...

[Ishtar, Hi-low sec DED runner]

Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Reactive Armor Hardener

Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Cap Recharger II
10MN Afterburner II

Core Probe Launcher II, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
Drone Link Augmentor II
Small Tractor Beam II
Salvager I

Medium Anti-Kinetic Pump I
Medium Anti-Thermal Pump I

Garde II x5
Warden II x5
Ogre II x5

damage - 720 DPS (Ogres II) / 520 DPS (Gardes II) / 440 DPS (Wardens II)
tank - 800 DPS cap-stable vs Guristas

BTW - Is it possible to run level V missions in Moros?
