Hello everyone.

I wrote a short post about a feature I found useful to some miners & haulers in the game.

I note that

Quote:
I've tried using this in correlation with the 'Available cargo hold threshold' alert in the 'Ship Health Alert Settings', but it doesn't seem to marry up with the bay you are tracking - the alert is only triggered upon reaching the threshold in your ship's standard cargo bay Sad

I think it would be useful if this alert acted in correlation with whichever bay you have chosen to track. The link between the two features seems intuitive, but at the moment it appears to be under-developed.

Maybe this would prove useful?

When implementing tracking choice, please let us also be able to set the sound of a full hold to the bay the client needs to track.

I don't really think it will be, at least to me. I regularly empty and fill up my cargo holds to capacity several times per day on some chars and don't need the max cargo on other chars at all. This is a conscious action and you see your cargo hold fill up, therefore you know that it's filling. I mean, there is this single jingle when you shuffle stuff around the first time after a login ... which serves no purpose whatsoever because, thank Catiz, does not jingle every time you do something in your cargo, and the only person able to do something in your cargo is you yourself.

The jingle for the full ore hold, on the other hand, is useful because your ore hold fills up while you are potentially busy doing other things like checking other barges, your booster, production sheets, mining sheets, intel, chat with other guys and so on, so that you do not necessarily see the ore hold filling up on its own. Since the filling process does not necessarily happen consciously

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I've waved the concept at CCP. (as it's about 8pm their time, no response, as you might expect ;) ) as it seems reasonable.

(I can see a couple of possible issues. Like setting it to monitor a bay, then changing to a ship without it. Or the interaction with bots)

Every ship has its own ID in game, let each ID remember the baychoice, then you dont have the problem.

I dont understand the BOT problem.

Thank you Steve!

There a simple solution to the bot problem - disallow multiboxing. Crisis averted, problem solved.

Nope, I need my fleet with freighters up to keep my trade empire going.
