Going Alpha for 2 months, what would be the best PVE faction/ship/fit?

For level 3-4 missions if possible? Would even it be possible to do some L3/4 missions in such limited time and faction locked alpha clone?

I've been Minmatar since forever and thought maybe as an Alpha Caldari should be easier for missions due to missiles being able to kill targets without needing to get close to them.

Ok i'll bite :)

Is your current character subbed or is it also a trial?
(If Subbed) What is the state of your current Omega character?

It is possible to do LvL4's after 2 months subbed but as an Alpha clone you will find it significantly slower going (limited to cruisers etc). LvL3 is more likely in the time frame detailed.

I see no point in starting a new Caldari character if you already have decent skills on a Minmatar character (or for any other reason). You may as well just let the Minny char go unsubbed and use what you can as an alpha clone, rather than start afresh and have to wait while your new Caldari char gets to 5mil SP and is competitive with your current char.

Missiles are the go to for EASY semi-afk missioning, but are by no means the FASTEST way to run missions. Minmatar turrets have massive falloff and are as such a good choice for mid-long range.

Like Keno I would probably rate Caldari as the least best choice but it's up to you, if you like missiles go for it. They wouldn't be terrible compared to the other race weapons, but I would stick with Minmatar if you already have some skills trained.

Level 4s would be painfully slow as an alpha, some of the harder ones incredibly so for someone locked to alpha skills.

OTOH there are many easy level 3s you could do, just avoid Extravaganzas and Blockades (the main ones I can think of off the top of my head).

Use faction ammo, it may be a bit more pricey but it's worth it IMO.

How much ISK are you willing to throw at the problem? A faction fit Gnosis can certainly run level 3 missions with Alpha skills (any race) and should be able to handle L4's.

A 100MN AB Kiting Vexor Navy with Navy drones will be a good choice. Shocked

Ty for your answers guys. I think ill be Minmatar and try to fund my new account somehow through PLEX. It will be a challenge and probably fun way to discover if a solo Alpha account can come up to becoming Omega though PLEX.

I know missions alone won't be able to fund an Omega account with PLEX but that would be a start till i know more of other in game options.

Oh right i see you want to pay for your acct with in game currency..

Seriously if you want an Omega acct just subscribe it. Even with a new Omega account the vast majority of people struggle to afford PLEX initially. You could put 40 hours a week into eve and maybe scrape a plex together in the first or second month, but it will be a job rather than a game and you will most likely burn out and leave feeling like EvE's no fun. Better to work 1 or 2 hours and subscribe for a month of actual free time and fun, than to spend all your time desperately grinding up a billion ISK only to have to start doing it again instantly.

Note that with some experience (game experience not SP) making ISK gets substantially easier. It's just not a realistic goal for a fresh newbie.

Out of interest, how have you been "Minmatar forever" but don't know about cruiser fittings or how hard lvl4's are yet?

I havent played for years and used to look at battleclinic for fittings. Just realized battleclinic is gone. So i basically forgot the fittings for L3/4.

Im going to subscribe. I just wanna relearn a bit of the game again before subbing.

I'm sure if you wanted to run level 4's solo on an alpha account that some, if not most of them, could be completed. However if you are looking to make good isk / hour then I would not recommend it.

I always choose games that charge per month. First reason is that I have a rather extreeme distaste for being marketed to especially with regards to fake stuff inside a computer game. Second is that I don't want the game to become like a job. If I am grinding for hours just to pay for the game I'd much rather just work an hour in real life.

An example:
Without trying too hard you can make 20 Million isk bounty ticks running anoms in null sec. ( I pick that for the example because it is simple and repetitive and steady isk. ) That is 60 Million isk / hour. At that rate it would take you almost 17 hours to make one Billion isk. I am fairly certain that most working adults could make the $15 dollars per month need to sub by the month in one hour of overtime at work.

So one hour of work versus almost half of a work week. To me that is a simple decision.
