IDEA:

CCP has added quite a few holiday events that mirror New Year and other real life holidays or international celebratory days. I propose that they add some more (yearly) event days to let us celebrate game-specific things, for example EVE's release day, or days specific to celebrating various departments within CCP, including the volunteers (ISD), CSM, etc.

Work them in as special Concord-observed days, put them in the in-game Calendar as public events, and we can celebrate the efforts that all the CCP employees, all the volunteers, and some of the players have put into the game.

The world has mothers' and fathers' day, teachers' day, administrative assistants' day, etc.; EVE should have bughunters' day, volunteers' day, CSM day, FC day, whatever. The various CCP teams could each have a celebratory day of some sort.

Give us more reasons for cake, fireworks, pizza, drunken PVP, and general mayhem.

While we are at it, I'd also like to include the members of the ISD team who wrote the last chronicle "Sunset", silent people I never knew that they even existed and suddenly and out of nothing they came with the longest EVE chronicle ever written in 15 years. Thanks! Smile

They can work that in for April 1. The Day of Scams, or whatever. Advertise that it's coming, that everyone (lorewise) is preparing for it, that it'll definitely be big, etc. etc., but don't say what exactly the change will be. Then CCP can have fun for one day, odd NPC AI, controlled NPCs, whatever. We can always stay offline or in station if we're too scared of what's going on.

We could also have newbie day, pirate day, traders day, production day, fleet roaming day, exploration day, wardec day, etc., to advertise different aspects of the game and give us a reason to organize appropriately-themed ops and events.

But mostly I'd like to see the days for celebrating the various devs, volunteers, and players, and the efforts they've put into the game, as suggested above.

So thanks for taking the idea to CCP, and I hope they implement it.

And yes, thank you to all the volunteers and community managers that are making our gameplay and forums more enjoyable.

I have thought for a long time that the Chronicles and other such short fiction works would make the greatest storyline/arc type mission background text if worked into the mission framework.

What better way to get people to learn the lore than to incorporate it into such things.Blink

The Chronicles and the science shorts are what imo made me get sucked into Eve 13 years ago. Ironically I read them while mining and it wasnt so boring then and let me understand the world CCP was trying to create. For me this was the main sticking point beyond in game friendships that really cemented my longevity here. So thanks for all the proverbial fish.Big smile

Heh I was thinking of this a while ago myself. But more in the events category where the devs or any CCP employees could randomly become the last spawning ship with PvP fits to engage players to make it super exciting and absolutely random with some nice goodies if they are actually killed in this state. Much like when the last blood raider BS would spawn sort of % chance. So then you would have to PvP for that final PvE loot goodness if even just a lil bit.Blink
