Zealot Fit for Crimson Harvest

I tried this Zealot fit for running some Crimson Gauntlet sites and couldn't get a hit on a single frigate. I'm considering swapping with Focused Medium Pulse Lasers and replacing MWD with another Tracking Computer. Any advice for getting better at hitting frigs?

Normally I run these sites in an Ishtar or Confessor but wanted to try something different.

I've been using a Sacrilege. Heavy missiles are next to useless against the frigates even with 2 missile guidance computers fitted with precision scripts and a target painter - those things must have negative signature radius! On the other hand, my Acolytes pop them quickly when I illuminate them with the painter and the missiles work great in the second room.

Use a web instead of the tracking computer.
Out of the short range turret systems, pulse has the weakest tracking, so you need to start with some range to keep angular low.
Warp in at 30-50 km and pop them with scorch at long range when they start their approch.

I think most of your problems are solved just by warping in at 40 or 50 instead of 0.

Fit itself doesn't look particularly wrong, though I do question the value of dual prop here. I'd keep the TC and maybe swap one of the prop mods for a web (or another TC) just in case. Trimarks also won't help much; I think your best bet is a targeting system subcontroller or two but pretty much whatever works.

m8, do you watch transversal velocity ? keep transversal to 0, keep distance to 20-30 k and...it will pop anything. Gun based ships are not F1-F8 i win button.

HAM Sac, Best Sac. HAMs get application similar to precision Heavies and more DPS due to their higher RoF.

Also, a web will serve you better than a painter or a guidance computer, especially considering that the frigates tend to swarm you at close range anyways. Web and paint if practical.

Yes, your fitting will be tighter and your range will be shorter. So what? These are small-scale brawls anyways.

Just for gigglez, I ran 2 gauntlets with an Omen and 2 with my Astero last night. A Sacrilege or Zealot will be just fine.

thanks...warping in at 50 in the 1st room lets me quickly pop frigs with scorch.

i use conflag vs. cruisers in 2nd room and drop them quick as well.

agree dual prop is useless for BG sites, will swap AB with a cap charger.

still debating 2nd rig...

I've run about 50 BG sites but only fought one battleship.

I did a few in a Confessor. I blew through the frigates, the cruisers took a little longer. My Sac is, I think, faster and definitely easier.

I may fit out a Dragoon to do one just for fun. Knowing my luck I'd get a BS spawn. Heh.
