The sheer amounts of RAGE going around the forums at the moment are both a good and a bad thing, but lets recap the ups and downs of this angry, angry time:

Good:
*It means CCP are shaking things up again, and lets be honest, even when they get it wrong its at least entertaining.

*Incursion carebears are howling to the heavens about grief in "their" incursions which is also (supremely) entertaining.

*DRAKE CHANGES (Hooray)

*New faction warfare (Hooray)

*CCP actually being on (sort of) the right track for a change (Hooray)

Bad:
*While there will ALWAYS be people raging about change on the forums (wouldnt be Eve if there werent) the sheer AMOUNTS of rage-tears are producing a worrying effect; Carebear Tears are rapidly losing their value, and the forums themselves are stagnating and turning into a rage-swamp. Its like the whole of Eve is turning into C&P.

*With vast numbers of angry players roaming around yelling about how life in general is mistreating them, its difficult for CCP to get a good idea of how to appease their playerbase. This in turn may lead to CCP throwing out some knee-jerk reactions, and we all know how that turned out last time......

tl;dr version:

Stop raging at everything, or you'll confuse CCP

I had no idea Drake tears were this delicious.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

I hate everything, but especially haters and mad people. I hate myself.

Drake tears are so delicious, though. I had some idea of them from killing Drakes in the past, but this... this is just wonderful.

I like everything, especially all the nice people in this thread and people who give me attention.

Maybe CCP is just introducing some new tear faucets to fight inflation and keep their value up?

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

It's not the quantity of tears, it's the quality. For example, nerfing Drakes promotes blobbing, amirite?

The very existence of killboards promotes blobbing. You can only have your insane K/D ratio if you always fly in huge blobs and avoid 1v1 or any fight that might be challenging at all costs. In my opinion this has nothing to do with Drakes.
Although I personally do not like Drakes at all and wouldn't mind if they were toned down a bit- I am just sick of telling every newbie in our corp who asks about how to make money fast to train for drakes and farm level 3's.
And yeah, I love the hurricane, but I think my beloved cane could also use a little nerfing- like slightly reduced PG maybe....fitting 2 tech 2 LSEs on a BC and still have enough PG for top tier weapons- that's just a little bit too much, I think.

On the Drake front... Isn't the suggested changes going to make the drake a 860DPS RAGE Hams to 32kms and Javlins to 50km? Not a typical "Nerf".

But no more resist bonus o no now it only has a 800Dps passive tank. ****.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

Those italics really contribute a lot to your post.

Yeah, while the Drake needed a nerf, it is not the reason for blobbing. Killboards are part of it (along with the obsession to maximize all the numbers ever).

The rest is just people wanting to get risk-free PvP. If you fly in a giant gang, you have a very good chance of getting out alive even if you do get ambushed by something more powerful, because your fleet can be your meatshield.

Similarly, that is the reason for the popularity of nano-ships. Nanocanes are more popular than armorcanes, Harbingers, not because they are more powerful, but because they can simply choose to run away from fights they are not winning. Same reason Dramiels, Vagabonds, Taranises, etc are all popular -- GTFO-ability.

Anyway, tl;dr: people don't like to explode (possibly because of killboards), and thus blobs and nanoships are here to stay.
