8/10 @Freya, Total control, almost monarch feel to the picture. I feel the pose could be a bit better positioned, it feels more like forced modeling than a powerful pose. It's MAINLY the left shoulder. It's too high up.

With looks like that - you could kill pilots just by glaring at them

Good lighting effects, strong chin, beautiful eyes, a hard 8/10

There's few avatars that make me stop and double-take. Yours is one of the few. Framing's perfect. Colors are great. Lighting's perfect. That angle works beyond belief--I don't know if I've ever seen that before, nice work.

Model is gorgeous without being waxy and lifeless. Expression is full of character.

10/10

Except for the fact that using that blink is confusing. I'm not sure if she's squinting poutily at the camera (looks a bit too congested for that), if she's squinting into the light (too weak an expression for that), if she's unhappily sleeping (too much tension in the face for that), or what's that actually supposed to be.

Personally, I'd try again so that you can see a bit of eye. Give her a flirty schmilky squinty face, that makes the most sense.

But wow. Good work. Also, Ishukone Okusaika best Okusaika. _o/

o_o still overwhelmed by your kind words, Neph I really don't deserve them!

  • The idea behind her take was simply to replicate the face she'd have when the camera's flash was way too bright LOL
  • Background is the only one I use (53) and it works wonders on most portraits by subtly shifting the focus to the player from the background, and forth again. Lovely colours too, can't beat in-game nebulae :)
  • The angle works well because I think it's a simple one and more of anything - the simplistic nature of standing in front of a camera waiting for a picture to be taken, to be taken aback by the flash - was what I was going for.
  • Model is based after my good friend irl :) She's quite pretty, I know, better without her armour I think though (and not surprised looking by overflash)
  • Her eyes are open, but a tiny fraction - if I have time (and if I'm drunk enough) I may re-do the expression, but I think I just got it right the first time out of luck!

  • Your Pilot put simply, in my opinion, is the backup beef that is called once Fleet Commanders have lost hope in their top ranking generals and commanders.

That unyearning, dead, murderer of a million, enslaver of untold billions look of pure malicious contempt is what causes onlooking pilots and generals alike to recoil in methodical and unspoken respect in your presence.

That is even before they take notice of your facial tattoos, of which undoubtedly speak and label of forgotten memories, truths and pains of which ultimately bracket your pilot's facial features into one that would command instant, fearful attention from anyone smart enough to of already stop speaking over you. Tough/10!

Sometimes it just needs an explanation. At first I didn't know what to make of your expression and decided not to rate, but after you told us what you were going for, I have to say, you hit the nail on the head. Lighting and expression work very well with what you were trying to achieve.

Sadly you'll probably have to explain that a couple times because not everyone will get it. 0 out 2 have gotten it so far. My first impression was, that you might have had a malheur in your suit and it is all wet and sticky in there.

    Nice.

Impactful, definitely. Especially the eyes, combined with the drooping lower face expression. Then with the depressing low-intensity blue-scale lighting, seems to achieve what was meant. 8.5/10

9/10, Definitely getting an "Old wise man" feel from you, the background gives it more of a grim-dark feel. Like maybe you weren't the nicest instructor, but gave good advice and genuinely wanted your followers to succeed. I like how the pose shows the age of your character and makes it seem as though you've just kinda given up.

Humble in a good way, professional and very calmil style while still expressive~ I might suggest lowering the frame a bit, & maybe some change in lighting, but the light angle already matches the background perfectly as well

Solid everything. Really good, actually. Normally I don't go for those close zooms but this works really well.

Needs more contrast in the lighting, IMO. 9/10, I really like it

7/10 for Neph with hair :'(

Red, red, red! Usually that look's used by edgy characters and detracts from them, but in your case you've framed a strong scene with the red-on-black motif. The positioning makes sense, the lighting matches the background (the simple ones rarely work so well), and the character's expression is spot on. The only suggestions I could make might be to get matching arm enhancements, maybe the matte black 'vice' arms, and maybe play with the hair a bit (it's already good tho)

Kinda basic in pose but looks at least fairly smart and lit. Guy looks a bit like he was having his photo taken in dress uniform when he noticed the dog humping his flight boot.

I see what you're trying to do and I like the idea, but imo it doesn't work. You're too close, and your collar leads the eye to the corner of the frame. I look at your blind eye, then down your tattoo at your mouth, and then your collar leads my gaze out of the frame. Nothing catches the eye and holds it because of the way you're positioned. I'd recommend a slight zoom out, putting your face more in the center of the frame, and turning so the diagonal of the collar is subdued.

Otherwise, excellent details, great colors, good lighting, nice characterization, etc etc. It's really nice but hard to look at. Also, you've got some bizarre clipping coming out of your right cheek.

    7/10, needs work

Neph: I love it, your skin tone and tattoos compliment each other very well. Your facial structure is good as is your pose, very strong/stoic looking. You could probably get away with a slightly longer hair style, but that's preference. The lighting is my only critique. It works well... but the shadows seem a little off. Maybe just change the direction a little bit? But overall a 9.5/10.

A clean, young look. An open expression, no obvious looking threat... Background works well, combined with the pose its evocative of seeing someone in a darkened club off the beaten path, a part of the scene but yet slightly mis[placed.

Very nice work, and effect. 9/10

You look a little too fancy to me, as if you are trying to look like one of royalty. Unique I suppose, however I can't imagine you flying anything bigger than your own ego. 7/10
