Is there a way to get chat channel data from the API?

I saw a post that said the only way to get chat channel data was from the local chatlogs. The post was quite old though, so I'm hoping it was outdated? If it wasn't, it would be extremely helpful to be able to get chat logs from either CREST or the XML API. The XML api already has chat channel data, but not the chatlogs themselves.

No. There is no way to get the chat logs via crest/xml apis. The only way is using the local copy saved in EVE/logs/chatlogs folder.

You can't get the full logs, but you can pull information such as the MOTD.
