Hi
Just returned to eve after a 6yr ish break.
Spent a few days looking about and getting used to things again to be honest I have forgot allot.
A year before i quit spent Time in an alliance in 0.0 and was allot of fun with corp members. Running missions, ratting,PVP groups, Looking after a POS we setup.
After the corp members quit for various reason was running level 4 missions

Looking for casual play for fun nothing too serious now to get back into swing of things.

Skills 138mil SP
Trained in most skills and ships
All my ships are in a .7 with few more a couple of jumps away in a .4
So currently trying to find my way about and seeing were all my stuff is again Big smile

I always do the SOE arc when coming back. It acts as a pretty good refresher, and it can only be done once every 3 months anyway.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Thanks found all my stuff and most of it was local to me :) forgot how much i had

Isk situation is ok for me at moment too

Suppose allot of ships have changed a bit or allot while i have been away.
I have allot of T2 ships/fittings but bit nervous to set straight out in one of them till my confidence builds up :)

Will fit out some Tec 1 ships to start again and familiarise my self again. The SOE looks good which ship is best for that to start ?

May look for a fun corp to join too as all my corp members have quit along time ago. Had a good laugh with my old friends

How safe are freighters moving through Hi sec now ? should i need to move allot of stuff to a new area. ?

Feel like a total noob again but things slowly coming back Big smile

The Epic arc is a chain of level 1 missions with a couple of more challenging missions thrown in at the end. You'll need at least 100 dps to kill the main villain (Dagan). I run it periodically for standing - you get an 8% boost with the faction of your choice. It takes about 4 hours to run the 50 missions in a Wolf (assault frigate).

Freighters are reasonably safe. There are higher risk systems at choke points between trade hubs, notably Uedama and Niarja - but hundreds of freighters pass through those systems trouble free every day. Keep your cargo below 1 billion. Or contract a hauling corp like Red Frog to move it for you - they have a value cap of 1 billion ISK.

If you plan to move back to nullsec, the corp you join will probably have a jump freighter service to move your stuff from a highsec staging system.

Ships have changed. Use a tool like PYFA http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Guide_to_using_PYFA to experiment with fits. The old standard EFT hasn't been updated in 6 months - not sure if it is still supported.

Tell your old friends they will be able to login and play free of charge in a couple of weeks (Nov 8) as Alpha State clones. May encourage a few of them to take another look. It's a very different game to 6 years ago.

Thanks for all the info :)

I will try the epic arc one, I must be able do do a level 1 Big smile
will get an assault frigate and fit it. Then get a fitting for it off the eve uni site. A ship for missiles or guns best ?

Thanks for Freighter info.I see allot of posts on Hi sec ganking so wondered, I have the Crane so will use that for smaller stuff.

I have a Carrier in a .4 system too. I trained for it after i was given it by mate quitting years ago but never used it as of yet be a while before i jump in that too.

Been cruising around in a Helios while i get used to flying again. The map looks very different Low sec sure got allot bigger
Null sec is new to me too. lots of reading up for me as quite a bit has changed.
Skill Injector and remover is a good idea too, More reading lol

Brought and fitted a Gila after watching a video on Hi sec PVE looks nice and looking forward to flying it but need to be confident again on what i am doing so will sit there fitted for a while :)

Thanks for the help again :)

If I were you I'd do the career agents first, then the SOE mission set. Start with a plain rookie ship and pretend you're starting from scratch. The career agents give you enough ships to easily get through the SOE arc. IMO that's the best way to get your sea legs back.

My Wolf is autocannon. My market ALT uses it to run the Arc to improve standing and reduce brokerage fees. If you fly Gila, you may want to use a Worm for the Arc. It's overkill - drones will do all the work. I like to use a frigate because they are fast. Many of the missions can be blitzed without firing a shot.
