I have a few agents offering Level 4 missions lately but I'm not sure if it may be too soon. I have a Navy Meg that doesn't really have much trouble at all doing level 3's. Would this fit be able to handle level 4's? Also, any tips on what I shouild change or work on would be much appreciated.Smile

Pretty much. Just head away from the enemies and keep shooting, and it should be fine for most level 4's. Change out one set of mediums for lights, though. If you get tackled in a heavy DPS situation you don't want to wait for medium drones to try to hit a small tackler. Your drones should be mission-specific anyway (so: hammerheads and hobgoblins, valkyries and warriors, etc.)

edit: the drone link augmentor is a waste of CPU

The fact that a faction BS doesn't have issues with doing lvl 3s doesn't say anything (BS aren't meant to do lvl 3s), if you actually have *some* trouble doing lvl 3s that means something's probably wrong. Onto your fit, it looks quite decent apart from the EANM's as you can make your tank a lot better by fully focussing your resists for that mission. Thing is that there's 2 ways to fit a ship like that; 1) maximum recharge to try and make it as stable as possible, 2) don't bother with being cap stable but fit a cap booster instead and then use the freed up slots for something else.

A cap booster does need a bit more attention and you do have to use a hauler to move those booster charges around this is true, BUT it also means you only need to devote 1 slot to cap instead of tons of mids and rigs. The cap booster strategy allows you to focus your fit a whole lot more on tank and dps and is thus the better fit.

Have a look here, just translate to named where you can't use T2. You'll have increased tank, range, damage and tracking this way. You can replace the DC with a 3rd mag stab when you feel at ease with the fit and doing lvl 4s (which takes much more planning and experience than lvl 3s).

I strongly suggest you look up each Level 4 mission at least once through Google before heading to them for the first time. Also ensure you have resists set to match the rat types of the mission (switch hardeners if needed) and watch out for missions that have a lot of web/scramble. In many cases a warpout is not possible until you have cleared the tackling frigs - a task that may be hard or even impossible with BS guns as some of those frigs are damn fast, hence light drones are a must.

There are Level 4 missions that may output so much DPS that your tank might be cutting it close. I haven't done L4s in a battleship for a while (Tech 3 strategic cruiser pimp fit is go) but I do recall running *two* large reppers on my L4 Domi for some specific missions where single repper just didn't cut it. I guess Navy Mega is tougher so one might be enough, not sure.

I guess the question also is; Can you fly that Navy Mega under the "I can afford to replace what I'm flying" rule? In other words, if something does go pear-shaped, are you bankrupt instantly or can you fit another L4 mission capable ship with your leftover ISKies? I would no take anything into a L4 mission without being able to buy another identical ship immediately if accident happens.

Looks solid enough, although keeping hardeners to cover any rat type in your cargo is always a winner. Also Hammerheads as med and warriors as light drones is a winning combo, warrs really do kill the jamming frigs faster than hammers. And be sure to check

before each mission, If your running missions then you could do worse than setting this to your ingame browser homepage, when you first start with lvl4s knowing the triggers, aggro mechanics and resists is pretty much the key to completing them quickly and safely without loosing your faction BS to a red cross.
