To speed purchases up exponentially I suggest that CCP tweak the to allow for specific search results.

For example you want a Cruiser that is either T1 or T2 that has bonuses for EM/Therm and has standard armor resistance bonuses for EM / Thermal.

For the ship type list you would select: Cruiser
Then from the bonuses list under Damage Dealt you select: EM / Therm - Only one bonus in a set need be present to return a result.
Under the Resistance Bonus you would select: Armor then EM / Therm - Only one bonus in a set need be present to return a result.

You then click Search again and the result would show every type of ship that was a Cruiser has a EM / Therm damage bonus as well as bonuses to EM / Therm armor resistances.

I think what you want here is either a third-party tool or a massive expansion of the compare tool, there's no reason to build this into the Market because the Market loads a bunch of stuff this doesn't actually need. Realistically you can just load up the ships in whatever filter you have and then select one that meets your criteria. If you did this in a third-party tool you could even display the three lowest buy and sell prices in Jita.

I can't see any benefit that this would have over a little bit of practical knowledge. Things have become simplified enough that this kind of thing would be completely unnecessary.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

With the ship tree in your Neocom you can mouse-over any ship in the game and see information regarding its role, weapons, tank, etc. The right click menu will offer you an info sheet showing bonuses, fitting details, and skill requirements;
or a view of ships on offer in the regional market or contracts.

This seems to me to be far more powerful and useful than the feature you requested.
