Would a Drake fit allow me to do Incursions relatively well?

I've been mining for the past 2 months and I've gotten enough saved up for a great Drake fit. Would it be sufficient for Incursions, and what Skills should I get for them? I've heard that Incursions are the biggest moneymaker in Hi-Sec space.

You wont get many invites running a drake. You will stand a better chance flying a Naga. Yet by then if you are skilled to use the Naga you mise well go for the Rokh.

Missiles don't get many invites. That makes the drake bad as you are competing with Golems, Navy Ravens and other T2 craft for said limited invites.

Ah I see. Looks like mining until I get a BS for L4s then. :(

Missiles are pretty bad at vanguards, unless you have a really well skilled tengu, optimized and implanted to shoot frigates.

In assault and HQ though, they do some nice dps as snipers. But again, you're in a T1 battlecruiser, in a place where navy ravens/scorps are the norm.

You could use it to do L3 and some L4 missions.

However bad you'll fly it, as long as you don't lose it you should make more money than mining.

Don't do that! Get your drake, find some agents and you'll be able to run level 3s once you've got the standing for them easily. I would wager it'll be a much larger income than mining for you also, and a bit more interesting since you'll be shooting things that shoot back Smile

Actually I'm not sure about that. Mineral prices have gone up in the past few months so I'm not sure if mining is so much worse now. If the OP finds it more exciting, however, then absolutely. Do what's fun.


Unfortunately, one of the poorer-designed aspects of incursions is that it is in everyone's best interest for each player to have a maximally efficient setup, which has created a rather elitist "Faction fit or nothing" attitude around them, so it's true that you are unlikely to be invited to public fleets...but PUBLIC is the key word. Do you have any corpmates who might want to run incursions?

Minerals have peaked or are close to.
There might be a little bump up for Hulkageddon but then it's a deep dive down till next patch and then once the novelty wore off, still down for the summer.
