Hello, does anyone know what happens with the plastic wrap (and the courier contract it's attached to) if it gets jettisoned to outer space from a ship's cargo hold?

Nothing. It remains a plastic wrap, inside a cargo container in space. If someone else picks it up, and takes it, you can no longer fulfill the courier contract until you get it back, though. You and Only you can fulfill/complete the courier contract.

If not picked up, jetcans will disappear after 2 hours (or at downtime). Jetcan capacity is 27,500 M3. Anyone know what happens if the jettisoned cargo is bigger than that?

Yes, I do. When I was bashing poses it would sometimes happen, e.g. when shooting an array or corp. hangar that it might contain say some millions of tritanium (just a made up example) and when they dropped in space, I would get, 3 or 4 cans, or however many were needed to hold the total amount dropped.

Multiple cans would break the shrinkwrap - so I guess the courier contract fails. Idle curiosity on my part - no intention of trying it!

I know in a wreck it will stay in the wreck, but if you salvage the wreck everything that doesn't fit into a can is destroyed. My guess is the same thing would happen if you tried to jettison it?

Could always make a courier contract to an alt with 2 assembled rookie ships and try it out, wouldn't lose anything that way :P
