POS will be around at least until feature parity is achieved - which includes jump bridges. I'd guess at least a year. Features already available in new structures may be removed or nerfed. I hope not - I want to get as much mileage from my small POS as possible!

I'm not expecting CCP to convert existing POS' into other structures. At most, it will just become impossible to create new ones.

Those abandoned high sec POS' will be around forever.

I recently did a survey of all the moons in the system.

Out of over 80+ moons, about 10 were free, and there are only about 10 online towers.
