About time too! Geez. See this.

When I read the comment that CCP (I love RMT) Screegs made regarding Identity Authentication it just shows how stupid he is.

One of the biggest problems CCP have combating RMT and bots is the ability of people and organisations to create untraceable accounts.

By using something like a security token, this greatly reduces the ability for people and organisations to creating untraceable accounts.

Also it helps with considerable with decreasing the risk of accounts being hacked.

Agreed. Even if it was only something like Google Authenticator, Iwould support it.

It's a decent read, even after it was polished by the PR dept.

Glad to see MT is not being iterated currently and that CCP is open to an alternative to Arum.

Other good stuffs:

Hilmar said that it has become apparent [to players] that Incarna was not being developed for EVE, although a lot of time
was spent trying to justify it for EVE, but for CCP as a platform to release future games on.

Hilmar wrote:

If Incarna had been presented as “here is a technology platform that we can develop further down the line,
please try it and let us know what you think” the reception would have been much different. Instead, Incarna –
as it was when deployed – was branded as a full feature when it was in fact obviously not. And that is a
fundamental failure on CCP’s part.

i can't believe that the most fundamental aspect of eve was glossed over with this discussion.

trust.

perhaps a reasonable metaphor here is the college kid getting off the bus in new york city from bfnowhere, montana.

unless the new player has been brought in by a more experienced player, the potential for a new player to be completely taken advantage of is enormous, which is unlikely to light a fire under their ass to want to play more. there practically has to be a large pop up when entering space for the first time that includes a variety of scams shown to be used through out the universe. perhaps some kind of concord storyline mission where a simulated set of circumstances helps imprint the appropriate amount of caution in brand new players when dealing with unknown players.

Not the minutes I would write for sure. The biases of the current CSM and whoever had a hand in writing the minutes are very different from my own.

Overall slightly happy after reading this but some things mentioned concern me. The things still not mentioned concern me more.

I'd argue that it's much more about knowledge than trust - because rationally a new player has almost nothing to lose (which is a great reason to get them into pvp early on hint hint).

However, the new player has probably played extremely inefficiently, so he may think that he has quite a lot to lose.
A veteran would just shrug, buy a T1 scanning frigate from his last ISK and earn more in 2 hours by ninja salvaging a few missions than the newbie did earn in a whole week.

Dockable supercaps is just stupid imo (haha yes it would affect my 3rd party service P)

It's a long read though and there's some room for major discussions in there for sure, I'm glad the minutes are out for everyone to see.

All I saw was "buff Sov 0.0" and "buff my personal alliance ships and nerf all others". Just about the worst representation of a "democracy" that I've ever seen.

The quibbling over CSM elections would have made any gerrymandering political committee extremely proud!! That got a laugh and a half.

Incarna - Newest business example of mismanaged capital. CCP - Continuing to gank independent PI producers every day

PvP's latest  incentive program ** Unified Inventory **  'Cause you gotta kill something after trying to use it
