Revisit the impersonation clause

(Yes, it's been three years. It's still silly, and I'd still like CSM to try and get it fixed.)

Three years ago the EVE ToS changed to read "You may not impersonate or falsely present yourself to be a representative of another player, group of players, character or NPC entity."

This is a silly rule, preventing a number of interesting shenanigans. (It seemed to have come out of someone editing the Wiki to falsify the list of someone else's known alts, which is something that could be explicitly forbidden... if we still even had the Wiki.)

At the time player opinion was mostly against this change and the then-CSM promised to "hold CCP's feet to the fire". I'd be grateful if the CSM now would revisit it, with a view to reverting to the old rule that only confusingly similar names are prohibited (you can't call yourself Chr1bba, because that's just annoying UI screw).

Thanks.

Have someone make an alt named Areen SasseI, note there's a capital i and the end, not a lowercase L, and fly around through your space shooting your blues. See how silly it is then.

I had to trash an entire account a bit over 10 years ago because someone did this to me.

Before the change it was forbidden [1] to do that. As I said in the OP; revert to the old rule that only confusingly similar names are prohibited (you can't call yourself Chr1bba, because that's just annoying UI screw).

[1] the rule was (and is) enforced rather inconsistently.

CCP does not by policy enforce this rule unless and until someone complains. They don't care and don't try to be fair or consistent.
