So Sansha wants pod pilots out of the way, why not make it epic.

Every high player population system is a target [the big trade hubs]. Incursion happens with forces on the gates and a Mother ship assigned to each station laying siege and a defense fleet covering it.

The goal: lock down and limit system access, while taking out the NPC stations to hurt pod pilots. The victims would be the noncombatants who aren't smart enough to get out and assets in the target station would be destroyed along with agents [if it got that far].

Everyone is crying about the isk faucet being on for incursions so lets have a real war and stop pretending by having a real storyline changing event not based on the Empire powers playing shadow games.

Everyone cries about the crowded trade hubs so lets force a move to new ones. No one cries about the isk faucet of the market player who never leaves station playing penny games and avoiding corp taxes.

Everyone cries about the current stale tactics in Incursions.

Bored gankers and scammers sit in trade systems looking for targets for lack of anything better to do and space is full of cans advertising nothing at all.

This forces the player base to get involved and organized to counter attack if a system is worth saving with enough of the base incursion tactics we have come to love on the Mother ship Fleets [but they need to fight though the gate to get to one].

Plenty of targets for the gankers [should they want to try].

No stale hot drop cap ship games in high sec and we see how fast wars stop in Null to respond to alts in distress.

This action also allows the Devs to get involved by playing the bad guys they love so well.

Possible actions by other NPC fringe/pirate groups to help or attack that further an epic story that might alter the map of eve in Empire space. Maybe even the Jove show up.

Faction Warfare altered to include Sansha forces in the attacked systems while looking for the opposing faction to attack and still earning FW points.

This is both a good idea and a bad idea. It is a bad idea because alot of newbs might be in a system and would probably end up trapped in there. Another thing, NPC Stations are designed to be invulnerable.

Not to mention that if agents get killed, it would severely cripple the ability for players to go on missions.

Maybe add some kind of Sensor Grid that triggers an alarm whenever an 'Epic' Incursion is about to start, have a way of evacuating important NPCs (such as agents), and have NPC stations repair/rebuild themselves overtime.

Also, the NPC stations need to remain tough. Sure, they won't be invincible anymore, but they will at least be able to survive an incursion or two.

The ability for a station's ability to survive an Incursion would vary based on the security level of the system it was in, which would also help keep newbie systems safe.

I could support the attacks on outposts in Null sec systems as a part of this [destructible outposts are being talked about] but the main target would be large numbers of pilots meaning the trade hubs, the fist target being Jita.

Sovereign changes meaning a fight to gain it back as in a real faction war not a wannabe war, sure I can see that to an extent.

As for being trapped in a system you can still warp to zero on the gate to get out but coming in you hit the fleet at the gate with all that implies. Hang around on the way out and your dead.

As for the whines and tears, sure there will be those, there always are no matter what you do. The system would bring to light the reality of living in a target zone for those mass populated areas that are after all the target of Sanshas rage.

Recent CSM meeting notes points out adjustments in incursions, mainly the vanguards as well as a proposed low end incursion site added for low skilled players to also have some fun.

As was commented on throughout the CSM post the idea is one thing and the numbers to make it work in the system is very much another so hats off to all the code monkeys at CCP for crunching the numbers to make it work [I hope they give you guys free caffeine drinks].

If you want to play a game of chance, you have Somer Blink. Turning Eve into that won't make it challenging and meaningful, but the opposite.

If you don't like numerical superiority in the game working as intended, prolly game like WoW is for you.

Need I reveal every intricate detail of desired game mechanics changes? Apparently so.

Increasingly large concentrations of ships on-grid would not just have a greater chance of drawing larger and larger Sansha fleets, but also increasingly unpredictable numbers of Sansha ships.

Small to mid-size fleets would not predictably spawn these guerrilla incursions (and when they did, they would be quite small). Large fleets would more regularly encounter Sansha forces; they may encounter a dozen or so frigates and a few cruisers, or they might spawn a truly fearsome fleet of Nightmares. There's a slim chance that the spawn would be so massive, the Sansha force would be virtually insurmountable.

Capitals are a thorny issue, since it is almost universally known that capitals > subcapitals in every way conceivable. In the interests of brevity, I will forgo opening up that can of worms - and simply suggest that capitals on-grid count much more heavily toward spawning incursions. Perhaps the spawn-factor could be based upon ship number and average mass or average signature radius.

Secondly, whoever thinks that chance and risk should be eliminated needs to either dock at Jita and never leave, or biomass themselves. Eve is a game of calculated risk in its purest form. No one should be safe, regardless of the size of their gatecamps, blobs, or hotdrops.

Incursions could actually inject true risk and danger back into nullsec.
