Cannot deploy a citadel

What I have checked:

  • There are no near by structures.
  • I am further than 500 km from the planet.
  • I am in an 0.5 system.
  • I have an anchoring skill of level 3.
  • There are no orbiting stations.


Does any have any ideas as to why this could be happening?

The only answer that comes to mind is you are in the way. Happened to me often doing it with POSs but not sure about citadels. If my hauler was in the way of where I wanted to deploy it it would throw an error message.

Best thing I can give you off the top of my head.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

I'm deploying it in a Tayra which is a small enough ship, i've tried putting a bigger gap but that didn't seem to work.

Are you absolutely certain there is no structure within 1000km?

Completely, the nearest one is 15,423 km away on the other side of the planet, and it's a customs office.

From what i have gathered playing with it on SiSi you should be CEO to deploy citadel. Don't remember if 'all roles' worked too.
What i DO remember is that all related to anchoring roles was not enough (it was 2 or 3 roles i cannot tell now).

I'm pretty sure you're not far away enough, I had the same issue the other day and being the required 1000km away doesn't seem to apply properly to planets (probably bc the planet box is a box, and not a sphere I'm guessing) so while you may be 1000km away from the center on the sides you're not 1000km away down in the corner if that makes sense.

Try to fly away from the planet more, and try move the citadel as far out as you can until it turns blue.

You have to be 500 km + radius of planet or moon.
