Prior to today, playing with zoom would mean that you hold right mouse, move the mouse a bit, then hold left click and you could zoom and unzoom.

When you removed the right mouse, the zoom level woudl reset, as observed by thebackground visuals going back to normal size.

Now the zoom level does not reset, and one must initiate right click first and then left click for the zoom function to activate, and pull back to put zoom out back to normal.

It no longer automatically unzooms, and leave stars and nebulae large and blurry on screen without manual fixing.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

Part of it is because the camera now thinks FOV is the same thing as zoom level. On top of that, as you have found, it doesn't completely do what the old one did. Also, notice how you don't have full 360 degree range with the right-click panning like you use to. Welcome to the new camera system...for what little it's worth, I guess. It's one of the several functions of the old camera that was completely stripped, then given a half-ass replacement that isn't really the same thing. It's closer to what it was when it first rolled out on SiSi for sure, but still missing a lot of old subsystems and features.

In other words, it's about as intended as intended can be, so don't expect it to be "fixed" anytime soon, if ever.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
