is sadly neglected and open for claims of damages.

I had an encounter with one of your pets today in Gamis. I was seeking to move an old an long neglected "hauler" from there to a nearby system, when I was bumped. Said pet claimed that if I wished to mine I needed to pay a license fee.
So far so good.

Now, your pet either needs new glasses, needs to reread the referenced CODE OF CONDUCT because when I informed the pet that I don't mine, have never mined or have never mined anything but ships, he claimed that the same licensed applied to haulers.

[04:22:09] The pet> Because The New Halaima Code of Conduct requires you to have one
[04:22:30] The pet> http://www.minerbumping.com/p/the-code.html

Problem the first: There is no place in THE NEW HALAIMA CODE OF CONDUCT that explicitly mentions haulers. And as I was simply moving an empty ship, not hauling, it could arguably be claimed the ship wasn't a hauler in the first place.
Problem the second: In your code of conduct is says: "Keep local clean. Miners should be courteous in local and should refrain from the use of profanity." I might have uttered the words "I don't give a ****" which some might construe to be profanity - but then this would not be subject to a violent reproach as I, as I said am not a miner.

Following this encounter I had the opportunity to get back through Gamis by way of a minor distraction of 22 interceptor jumps from my poorly placed clone in PF-.

Nothing would be further from my patient person than to seek recompense for the destroyed ship, it was after all a lowly Mammoth. However, if it pleases you I would be appreciative of a voluntary gift, for the loss 5 minutes purposeful gameplay caused by rerouting through Tribute to Gamis, in the order of 2 billion ISK. You can donate them in my account any time you feel convenient.

And please fix your code of conduct to an THE EVEN NEWER AND CORRECTED HALAIMA CODE OF CONDUCT

Best regards,

Chiana

I am not raging - I pointed out, in a most civilized way I might ad, that the Code of Conduct doesn't mention anything other than miners. And thus might be open for damages due to mistakenly destroyed ships.

EDIT: Also I wish to point out that the quoted pet reference doesn't mention Gamis. I feel then, that the new and improved Code of Conduct should be rewritten in such a way as to prevent errouniously destroyed vehicles. Or that pets of Code stop refering to an out of date piece of legal matter.

Hi Chiana, and thanks for your feedback.

You see, the Code is, undoubtedly, the most important, but by no means the only legal document in highsec. Judging by the time of your posts, chances are high that you come from either America or Australia, which makes it easier for you to understand the concept of common law. In the United States, you cannot say that you have studied the American constitution unless you have also studied the innumerable decisions of the Supreme Court. Likewise, not only does the Law of Highsec consist of the New Halaima Code of Conduct (the Constitution of Highsec, so to say), but also encompasses all the posts and articles of James 315 on www.minerbumping.com and third-party websites. The Saviour of Highsec has frequently codified (pun intended) various precedents set forth by our valiant Agents, which includes, but not limited to, prevention of autopiloting, decadent fitting, or, like in your case, hauling without a valid mining permit.

As for using profanity in local and in exchanges with our Agents, you are correct in mentioning that it is, indeed, a common feature among highsec miners. You should keep in mind, however, that by sticking to this way of communication you by default make yourself equal to that exact lowest denominator, which is why addressing the perpetrator as "miner" when asking him to calm down (as in "Miner, calm down") is recommended by the New Order Agents' SOP.

For further inquiries on the possibility of a reimbursement, you need to present your lossmail so that we all can figure out what actually happened.

I hope that this response has been able to clarify the fine points of the Code and will improve the enjoyability of your stay within the space of the New Order of Highsec.

Praise James!

Fine Miss Chiana,

to make it easy and transparent:
Everybody in EVE needs a Code. permit, foy any activity in Highsec.

Without a permit and by violating the Code, the Agents will find you, soon or later,
but be sure - they ll take notice about each little crime you and other do!

Well known is James 315 red Pen list, where all heavy crime is noted. But each Agent
has got also its personal red Pen list where each little crime from non Code. compliant pilots
is written down.

Violating the Code, can be much more than afk mining or afk
hauling, it can be almost everything - as long as you dont call yourself the proud
owner of a permit.

So be clever, buy a permit now, follow the Code., see the light, help to make Highsec
a better place!

Sir King Ralph Griffin,

Thanks for this advice, indeed you are completely right!

For myself, i have a mouth and nose Implantat, if its damaged or destroyed, its changed fast.

What i would need additional is a eye-implantat, such as a fine product that cover your right
eye. So i ask you kindly, Sir, to contract your right eye implantat today to me and i will accept
it as a donation for your sin and crime. If you send me additional 10 Million ISK, it will be your
happiest day of life to receive your first Code. permit!

Pardon, i forgot to introduce myself. I am Piz, and i like to gank ships.
I m the Sheriff of Starsystem Balle (which is Sweden a simular name for a "penis")
which i defend and maintain for James 315, the Savior of Highsec.
Usually i stay just there, because i am old and dont like to travel alot anymore.
I follow the Code., i fight for the Code., but i m no actual member for the Code Alliance.
But what about you, Miss Lan Wang, did you ever Praise James 315 and his idea for Highsec?
