I haven't played EVE since 2013, logged into this account today. I currently have 16M skill points, but was wondering if I should just sell this character and start a new character through steam?

I'd not sell your character unless there was something you just didn't like about it. 16M is quite a bit of skill points to have to do over. That's about a year of training. Even if you want to explore something else, those skill points are there for your use later.

If you simply want to redo the new player experience, you could just make an alt and play on that, skilling it up as you go. The rate for selling characters has gone down and your character would just be leeched of skill points and cast aside.

Speaking of leeching skill points. If you have skills that you have no intention of using again, you can extract them, and reapply them with some diminishing returns. But it's an option.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Don't sell it. You can do the career agents at any time, so if you want to ease back into the game, just travel in a pod to a rookie system and start the career agents with a rookie ship. simulate the new player experience in terms of the ISK/ships you use, but don't give up your skill points.

You're fine

Security status matters as follows:

-2.0 or lower will be attacked in 1.0 space
-2.5 or lower will be attacked in 0.9 and above
-3.0 or lower will be attacked in 0.8 and above
-3.5 or lower will be attacked in 0.7 and above
-4.0 or lower will be attacked in 0.6 and above
-4.5 or lower will be attacked in 0.5 and above (all of highsec)

You said you have -0.2, you can go everywhere with this. Sec status only starts to matter at -2.0, small difference. And if you still worry about, just buy or hunt clone soldier tags and exchange for sec status at nearest DED or Concord station.

I'm my own NPC alt.

At least we know you aren't afraid of getting your feet wet with that sec status. My sec status says, "Carebear! Kill eet. Kill eet nao!"

Yeah, when my sec status gets near 5, a poor afk miner gets ganked and podded to bring it back down.

Lol
