Can't really promise anything other than that.

Forgive me sir, but from my understanding of the Federation's system of government and the social contract it has with its citizens, swearing fealty is not the way of Federal citizens, and there, it would be considered quite odd.

Why are you quite odd, sir?

It's important to understand that you can't swear 'fealty' to an elected official. For one thing, fealty is a feudal concept due to a Lord by his tenant. For a second, Roden may well be defeated in the forthcoming election, so Federal citizens would have no personal duty to him any further.

Support and defend the constitution, that's what required of a Federal citizen. Vote for whoever you feel will do this best. Otherwise, party.

I am new to the Federation, and I had no idea this was the case. I've amended my first post, thank you for the information.

I, also, swore an oath a few months ago. As time goes on and I settle more comfortably into the role, I find myself talking about it less.

But to get there, I had to take the oath in the first place. For me, that was private, mostly, but this?

You've gone from being the bloodthirsty pirate/philosopher to the loyal Imperial apologist/mouthpiece haven't you Jenneth? Pity. I liked the old you much better, even though you tended to be much more verbose for the sake of verbosity back then.

Their president was not chosen by God, never faced the danger of following Shathol'Syn should he lose these... elections. Swearing fealty to him would mean the same as swearing fealty to a Pop-Star. If the Kind Sir will insist on doing this, I wouldn't mind, it is his choice. But I would like to ask him to do this in other place...

I, Ilan Ardishapur, do not swear fealty to the impure Udorian Empress, Catiz I.

You will find many devote followers of the faith who also refuse to accept such a unrighteous path; to accept this pretender as gods chosen.

I, Kalina Estidalon, do not swear fealty to the mutt, Catiz I.

May God have mercy on our souls in these dark times, and may He mercilessly judge this pretender who poisons the waters of the faithful.

All New Eden has witnessed the trials and how the God made the choice. Those who can't keep up with His decision shall not be considered as followers of Faith anymore.

God tests us all. You witnessed his test and you've failed, as have many others. Your unwavering loyalty to the impure pretender has blinded you from the teaching of god; the scriptures.

What you fail to understand is how you've forsaken our Empire, turned your back on your fellow brothers and sisters of the faith. Most damning of all, turned your back on god.

I witnessed the Will of the God, who have chosen the Empress disregarding her ancestry. He has spoken through the hands of Champions. And who are you to doubt His choice? Do you think that YOUR decision is better than His?

Pride is a sin.

I'd hurry, Maria, at the rate they're getting blown to bits if you hang around you might not find them easily.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

We will see how long your heresies last when truly tested.

I, Samira Kernher, swear fealty to the Empire and to my lord, the Royal Heir Arim Ardishapur. May his predecessor, the blessed Lord Yonis, find eternal peace in Heaven with God. And may Her Imperial Majesty Catiz I, legally anointed Empress of Amarr, enter her new reign with her heart open to God and His Divine wisdom, so that she may rule dutifully and in accordance with His will.

I, Qvar of the house Dar Zanar... Trust that Catiz I will continue to be a valued ally of our king Garkeh. She has my best wishes as long as the Empire and our Kingdom continue this prosperous relationship that Catiz helped construct.
