What Tau said, and the beauty is that as you skill up more 'roles' you can play. It's not like regular RPG where your class role is defined. You can play any role depending on your mood and situation. You can mine roids in the morning and suicide gank other miners in the afternoon, be a scout in the evening and do a logi job next day, and be a space trucker for half an hour and then move on to whatever. That is just beautiful game concept.

What's even more amazing is, if you have the right personal skils, you can do many things eve related without even logging on to the game or having SP. People will connect and work with you based on your eve experience, not based on SP alone. You can be the evil master mind who just make plans and organise things behind the scenes and have big impact non the game while having 5m SP toon (or even less!)

You may sell your toon and be flying as a new pilot, but if you chose to keep your old ties, people will treat you with the same respect as the old high SP toon. It's not a game you earn respect by high levels and epic gears. It's a game of what persona and experience you build. Awesome.

EDIT for tl/dr: ISK helps. But it can only buy what will be destroyed. You build yourself what can't be destroyed. Yourself.

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

Absolutely worth the time, as it is the same with many other things....you only get out of something what you put in.

Yes, there are many things to learn and experience and I too have only scratched the surface to be honest....but such a great game once you get into it if you want a challenge.

I'm getting to the point where I've become self-sufficient in many ways and am able to at least put on a reasonably half-decent show in various situations and it's great. Still lots to learn but it's a long journey.

Yes the game is pay to win. It is more so now than before because of skill injectors. They're about 600 mil isk/injector and once consumed you can open the skill queue and take off the next week or so of training. I said more so now than before because I can buy a plex out of game, sell it in game, and put that extra money into my ship, which makes it better. You can pvp with 0 skill points, but you need to be smart about what you're flying and what you can beat. You should also consider whether you want to solo pvp or fleet pvp. Lastly, do not fly what you cannot afford to replace. Fly safe o7

Life is not about the destination, but about the journey.

Eve Online is no different.

If you try to 'rush' to get to that, you miss out on everything else.
