I understand how you feel, Ms. Culombe. The Society has welcomed me and has, for the most part, accepted me for who I am. There are times, however, that I'm distinctly reminded that for all the warmth they have given me, I am still an outsider.

One of things that I have noted is that the unifying element of their Faith is a source of strength for the Amarr people. It gives them deep roots in the past and provides a fabric that brings and holds the myriad people of Amarr together. Empress Jamyl I was more than just a leader to them, but an inspiration. She was the best of them. Her loss was, and still is, profound. After such a loss, and the grieving and recovery that followed, there is a need for them, the Amarr, to be assured that they still stand as one, that the ancient tree of their society has not been sundered. So, they stand as one and affirm their loyalty to the new Empress and the Empire over which she now rules.

It's important to understand that you can't swear 'fealty' to an elected official. For one thing, fealty is a feudal concept due to a Lord by his tenant. For a second, Roden may well be defeated in the forthcoming election, so Federal citizens would have no personal duty to him any further.

Support and defend the constitution, that's what required of a Federal citizen. Vote for whoever you feel will do this best. Otherwise, party.
