Hi!
We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Thursday, September 29th, at 17:00 UTC (= EVE time)!

What exactly is being tested?

  • First test of Command Bursts
  • Client performance improvements
  • General client and server performance
  • Look at new market graphs

How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Change the server from Tranquility to Singularity in the upper left corner of the new launcher and log in as normal. More detailed instructions are available here.

Test steps:
1. Meet in FD-MLJ, at the gate to X-BV98
2. Test out market graphs.
3. Jump to X-BV98.
4. Test the new Command Bursts
4a. Graphical effects partially disabled
4b. Stop using Command Bursts
5. Warp to Citadel
6. Shoot the citadel
7. Fleet W: Jump to Poitot + setup gate camp.
8. Fleet X: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate
9. Use Command Bursts as fight continues

What else should I know?

  • Use the command /moveme to be moved to the start system FD-MLJ
  • 2M Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test
  • Bring anything you like to the test (preferably something with weapons!)
  • Feel free to fit a Command Burst and load appropriate charges

When is it planned for the new modules to be added to the test server?

Right now, Command burst charges are on the market BUT Warfare links are still the same as they always have been- You can't use scripts with them, which might make mass testing them in a few hours somewhat difficult.

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

Check your redeeming. There should be 10 of each command burst and 5 x skill injectors.

The scripts are on the market, they just look like small antimatter.

One redeeming section wasn't available (nothing to redeem). Another character only had the same old tristan skin I haven't been able to Give away on TQ.

Maybe when the current patch is done, which means waiting another day to see what it all looks like.
Not getting up at 3am for a mass test, on a maybe it will all work.

As far as I can see your characters on Singularity should have the Command Bursts in the redeem queue.

I didn't know if you were aware of this yet or not, but I thought I would post it anyway. I was playing around with the new Command Burst Modules on Singularity today, and I found that I could only fit one of those modules to the Eos.

Anyway, I'm excited about the new changes, and I think you guys are on the right track.

ok so I got all the items from the redeem page but honestly doesn't do me any good, its all mostly for pvp and from the test details its all for pvp I could care less for that what I want to know is where are the fighter sized mining drones for the Rorqual? That's what I'm wanting to test, pretty much from what I'm seeing so far pretty much proves my point that all these changes are geared towards giving pvpers more targets and screwing over the miners, cause so far seems the risks are being increased dramatically for miners but rewards haven been lowered. Just like my hulks I'm losing 3600 m3 per hour per hulk compared to pre-change.

ccp is trying to make goonies relevant again and giving all miners the big finger at the same time. i have perfect engineering skills yet i can't seem to fit a mack at all..so i sold all mine. this is a big screw you to all miners and we know it. o heard last month was the lowest player count on record. this kinda reminds me of when ccp gave dust the finger a couple years back....started the same way...nerfing this and that, restricting this and that...then the announcement at dust fanfest about closing dust and opening legion...or whatever. if this is the end of eve, screw you ccp..never again.

As posted in the other thread: Known bug, should be fixed soon :)

Mariko Musashi Hareka + Nakota Joe Nakota: Please wait for the dev blog on this topic - no further comment on this, but the function of the mining bursts should be testable (but it does not make as much sense in a PVP-focused mass test).

Glad to hear someone actually say this out loud. Thousands of us are thinking the same thing.

Such a beautiful game wasted on PvP and destruction. There is such much potential for creating and exploring and it's ruined by bullies that are too mentally challenged to do anything but fight, kill and destroy. The real shame is that CCP thinks PvP is EVE's future for income. It will eventually be it's destruction and the end of all their jobs.

I went to multiple Specialty Gaming stores in my area yesterday and mentioned EVE to their customers and employees. Almost all had tried EVE at one time. NONE of them play anymore because it's too much war, not enough character development away from threat of PvP. Not ONE of them had a problem paying $15/month. They just spend it somewhere else now.

Wake up CCP, your time is running out ever so slowly. You barely still have time to save this incredible game. Your Alpha Clone idea will increase expenses and in less than a year, revenues will diminish even more than pre-Alpha clone release. Yes, I am watching your company income levels. Some of us made something of ourselves in real life and know how to run successful multi million dollar businesses.

Novemeber, 2019 News - "Build Your Dreams, Wreck Their Dreams" - CCP never saw it coming that it was their dream that would eventually be wrecked.

Without cash paying subscribers, how will CCP pay for the servers, bandwidth, employees and the thousands of other expenses? Nice thought if you are only thinking selfishly about yourself. Not so nice if you are thinking about saving the company running the game.

When CCP gets their PvP obsessed heads out of their asses by supporting Industry and Mning, I encourage EVERYONE to pay for a subscription even if you don't need to. The clock is ticking and EVE's time is running out. This is one of the few games worth saving.

What exactly are the client performance improvements? If anything I noticed EVE performing even worse than usual today (using a lot more RAM than normal).

The time selector below in the graph display is pretty awesome. Inspired by EVE-Marketdata? However, even if a tooltip explaining the purpose is still missing, it wasn't clear right away to me what this area is supposed to show. This was partly ... mostly, in fact, because I did not see the indicator that you drag around to adjust the time frame. Making that dragable indicator more visible would already go a long way to make the purpose of this section clearer from the start.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

The new market graph looks great. No complaints here except that zooming the graph doesn't yet respect the Invert Zoom Direction toggle (EBR-94283).

As for command bursts, the graphics look nice, but the performance was terrible. Granted, it was two fleets of 100+ people with a lot more pilots than normal using command bursts. Normally I get 50+ FPS in even huge fleet fights like that, but when command bursts were activated it often dropped to 4-10 FPS for a couple seconds. The change to reduce the number of visible effects helped a bit, but the performance was still not that great.
Interestingly the framerate didn't seem to be limited by GPU or CPU power. Most of the time my computer was at about 30% GPU use and 20% CPU use on each core while getting 4-40 FPS. The GPU use was actually lower than the normal 40% in empty space or 90% in station at 60 FPS.

Agree with that. Seams that the FPS drop is cause of Game Procesing information than of the Graphic Card processing the information. Is the same type of FPS drop as when you open a when window like Fitting or Market.
