Dailies with Skill Points as the reward?

Before I left it was implemented but when I come back to the states 3 months later it was removedUgh I can understand if it was removed for the lack of various content/missions being provided but the 10k skill point bonus should be brought back.

I sure hope not. Dailies are the opposite of what EVE needs

maybe it's the term you might be nostalgic to. How about Concord mission control objectives with SP rewards. Lol

In other MMOs dailies have served to keep me logging in every day, even on days when I didn't feel like logging in. Leading to more days when I didn't feel like logging in, but still did so for the dailies. Leading to burnout and me quitting that game.

Last time I quit Eve I got the daily urge from PI and trying to make enough ISK to buy PLEX. Which led to burnout and me quitting for two years. I'm not touching PI again and my sub will be paid by credit card from now on.

While games which don't have dailies sometimes have me go a week or two without logging in. But then I return and enjoy myself.

I think "with SP rewards" is the problem.

I'm not sure if CCP is still in favor of the whole SP trading system, esp. given that now they've had a chance to see that yes, a large portion of the player base WILL create SP farm alts, and esp. now that they want to introduce the alpha clone system.

I'm sure a lot of people just itching to tell them "I told you so" as soon as they post.

Er... what? What makes you think they didn't know that would happen? SP farm alts were already a thing, extraction just added granularity to the transaction.

What specific problem would you tell-them-so about, exactly? I'm not overly fond of the mechanic but I'd be hard pressed to identify and quantify any real problem that has resulted from them.

If you ever do PI again, do what I do..Set a 7 day cycle so that it doesn't seem like a job.

If I would be developer, I would give it to people. But only if you will grind 50 shipyard sites daily. I would make that exception to see your descend into darkness and basement cave of some sort where cheeto flavoured keyboard would merge with your fingers forever.

And considering the significant amount of RMT that revolves around the SP trading system.

That probably would stop PI causing me burnout. But that's not the only thing I dislike about PI.

So I think that it would be best for me to just extract my PI skillpoints, leave PI to the people who enjoy it.

I'm pretty sure the devs said it was discontinued because it did not accomplish it's purpose -- Increasing player retention and subscriptions. They implemented it and it didn't accomplish their goal, so it was nixed because a bit of player dissatisfaction that results is increased income for CCP is ok. Annoying a lot of players over a mechanic that doesn't improve profitability isn't worth it.

If they later think up some new variation that they believe will work "this time" then they might implement that variation and see what happens.

Overall, I like that they will try things that seem to work elsewhere, and at the same time, they don't fall in love with their ideas. If it doesn't work, they drop it. Good show all around.

That's what I do too.
It's just that I usually can't be bothered to restart it after those 7 days and instead need about a month or two for that.
Don't even get me started on hauling that crap to highsec (courier to Jita once it's in high) for selling.

I actually removed all my colonies because I wanted to move a system over. That was several months ago and I have yet to deploy those new colonies. Guess I'm not going to for at least another year.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

CCP said that the old skill queue, where you could only set a day's worth of skills, had people logging in daily to reset the queue, and when they did, they tended to stay logged in. They would talk to corp mates and get caught up in some in-game activity. The result was more people playing Eve.
They hoped the daily mission would foster the same sort of behavior. But it did not, so they removed it.
