Greetings and salutations!

I'm looking to run a corporate giveaway (BPC's, ships, etc.) but I'm not sure how to do it in a completely fair manner. Can anyone give me any ideas as to the best way to do it? I'd like to be able to offer proof of impartiality if possible. I've thought about random number generators but can't seem to come up with a way to do it where everyone can see that it's not skewed towards a particular player. Any input you might have would be greatly appreciated!

Google Docs (Sheets) + =RANDBETWEEN(LOW,HIGH) + people watching the dock when you make the cell. As soon as you have the function thrown in and hit enter, it'll generate a random integer between the LOW and HIGH you selected. You can get the names listed in one column, then do the calculation in another. Whosever number is pulled is the winner.

Put all people in a list and assign them numbers.

Either before (if you know the max amount of numbers) or once completed generate a random winner(s) via the eve api and http://eve-files.com/tools/dice/

You can generate the number and it will be hidden before you assign numbers to pilots, then just unlock the dice when it's time for the draw.

I miss the times people did lotteries with Chribba's dice. :p

I can't remember the name, but ther was this famous girl (at least his/her toon was a girl character) who regularly ran lotteries and sold shares as just collectibles, at 1m ISK each. She also ran for CSM once but no success. She was adorable and did many fun lotteries but then quit I think. When she quit and the lotteries stopped, there were people who wanted to buy the shares of that lotto running corp as collectibles. I had 100 of them back then I bought for 100m, and sole them for like over 1b. That was big ISK for me back then, but now I wish I kept them for the memories :(


Anybody remember her/the corp's name? I remember her face and that's all, IIRC she was Jin-Mei origin, who had (and still has!) the nicest looks in the game pre-Incarna (and yes I'm also Jin-Mei heh)

I don't know. Only name that comes to mind is Mintchip. Did she run lotteries?

Oh damn, I'm so glad she's gone. Let's hope she never comes back.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

Why lottery? Make something what will induce creativity. Then you can give out prizes by merit, not a stupid luck.

T'Amber? Is a he IRL as far as I recall. He ran a few insane chat type lottos, I was in a couple of those and they were seriously fun, ended up bagging loads of BPOs early on which was awesome for a newbie industrialist. He's still about doing skin art, but not sure which handle he uses atm (it's still T'amber on slack tho).
