Epithal tweak

The Epithal is toted as the industrial of choice for PI with its special cargo hold for planetary commodities. However, the very same Epithal is not able to actually deploy a Planetary Command Center. Planetary Command Centres have a volum of 1000 m3, but does not go into the planetary commodity hold of the Epithal. The Epithals' normal cargo hold only holds 550m3.

Is there some secret squirrel reason why an industrial ship with planetary interaction in mind is not able to actually start a new colony? Would it not be much more convenient to either increase the normal cargo hold of the Epithal to 1000m3 so it can at least carry one command center, or allow the command centres to go into the planetary commodity hold?

Yes that ship is designed for transporting the commodities not the structure that allows the colonizing of a planet (CC)
The point was you go set up and deploy with one hauler, like an iteron or a blockade runner then use the epithal to get the goods home or to the next planet.

that said i dont see this change being a big issue to implement

Then what is the point of using an Epithal if you already have a different hauler? Iteron5 can get about the same amount of cargo with Cargo Expanders

The fact that you can fit things that aren't cargo expanders to help your epi live longer.

This is a silly reply, you cannot compare an Epithal to a cargo expanded Iteron or arguably even one that is not cargo expanded. One word, tank.

Seriously?

Try the Epithal can haul more PI than a fully expanded Itty5, and here's the important part, it can do so without fitting a single module.

A fully expanded Itty5 can actually only carry 2/3 of the PI an Epithal can. 40k m3 Iteron 5 vs 67k m3 Epithal when flown by the all 5 pilot on EFT.

Epithal carries nearly double...and thats with a full tank and faster warping.

I dislike the specialised haulers. They are overpowered. However, an indy that carries pi goods but not command structures is silly.

So after you deploy the CC you refit. It's not really that hard, right?

For intial setup, the Nereus is better. It aligns faster, warps faster, and can carry several command centers with cargo expanders and a pretty respectable tank.
If you want room to pick up PI before scuttling a colony and moving, you want a DST, or one of the fat and squishy T1 haulers.
