Hi new to game. question if i enable my safety settings to yellow do i get any kind of criminal suspect flag against me? or do i actually need to commit an offence first before i get any kind of flag and timer?

thanks

You need to take an action, to pick up a flag.

Changing your safety setting isn't an action.

yellow safety lets you do things that incur a suspect timer (steal loot from other people's wrecks, shoot MTUs/etc.) but it prevents you from doing anything that will make CONCORD come.

It doesn't automatically give you a suspect flag, it LETS you do things that give a suspect flag.

No flag from changing your safety to yellow or any other color, it''s what you do after that will get you a flag Pirate

Setting to yellow means you cannot commit a "concordable" offence (firing illegally on another player in hisec), but you can commit Suspect level offences (stealing from a jetcan) that will make you a valid target for other players but not concord. I suggest yellow if you want to be able to have some fun but don;t want to accidentally lose your ship to concord by accident :)

Bear in mind that even if you set your safety setting to "green" it will not stop other players from setting their safety to "red" and shooting you.
