Extorting Players In Highsec Space.

Apparently I didn't have a " permit " to mine this system, (that was kind of funny as I wasn't even mining just passing through ). Anyway since I haden't paid this extortion racket mob some isk they destroyed me. I have been playing on and off for years and I have run into this once or twice before but for new player just trying to start out in the game this is a terrible thing. I have been hearing lots the last year or so about EVE's player numbers dwindling and must say I have noticed it myself as there seem to be far fewer pilots in space these days. Anyway it didn't bother me as I only lost a shuttle and a few implants but this kind of action will only hasten the games demise as new players are being preyed upon by these thugs just as they are starting out.

As a frequent carebear -- I think it would be a mistake for CCP to hammer Code and high-sec shenanigans out of the game. They make the game more interesting and serve as a catalyst for industry.

I just wish CCP would enable & support high-sec white knight game play.

The solution is to leave ganking alone, but put mechanics in place that put gankers at risk of retaliation.

Boost retaliation/consequence, and undo nerfs to ganking, problem solved

The issue is the "need" to force someone to stand up for themselves.

That's normally called bullying, though I realize its allowed in this game.

You clearly didn't read my post very well. I told them to drop dead, that's why they blasted me. I will never pay anyone a cent in " permits " as long as I play this game, and that has been quite a few years now.

Nah, I don't think it is that players want that kind removed from the game. Just properly fenced so they don't need to be dealt with unless they are in the mood.

You know that is what Hi Sec, Low Sec, and Null Sec are,

Virtual Fencing to keep the rift raft where it belongs.

"They" don't have to do anything, CODE seem perfectly capable to get rid of themselves. The latest, the group that warns of bot-aspirancy - had members banned for botting.

Notice how everyone else in this thread can talk about CODE without feeling the need to link their website? It's because only people who need to advertise the CODE website do so, and their posts are always the same: a nice, clearly framed link that shows the whole URL (instead of something like this) surrounded by a sob story, or a story of vengeance, or high moral grounds, or whatever.

They also only post once (the initial post) and then disappear from the thread, only replying to the most insulting replies, because CODE is not a topic that they like to discuss or actually get more info about, but rather they've been asked to make a post, and they just do the bare minimum required for it, and otherwise only reply to enable continued trolling / flaming.

Only CODE alts or customers advertise the link to the CODE website. We get posts like yours every week or so.

For better quality posts, CODE should make it a requirement that you guys get at least 5 pages of replies in order to get the permit.
