FW: What exactly happens when a system flips?

One of the points of Faction Warfare is the control, defense, conquest, and loss of systems. Around this concept pretty much everything in the mechanic is built. Mechanics wise, it's very mechanical, with gains and losses of system percentages calculated due to a few different modifiers (though now with Dust deceased, there's not actually any modifiers, it's just one flat rate). Mechanics wise we know the script and dance to it.

Lore wise though, what really happens? What transpires on the planets, in the cities, and on the stations that are in a system that transfers ownership? Is it just "business as usual" and nobody bats an eyelash? Are there actually huge battles going on between the varying Militia personnel and Navy personnel? Do Wyirkomi or FedMart stations suddenly come under new ownership, or do they just agree not to grant docking rights to capsuleers who belong to the losing faction? What about the actual militia stations themselves, who you would think if they were still in ownership of the station would naturally grant access to their own militia no matter who "owns" the system.

I'm not sure there's any impact on the local system lorewise either.

The only frame of reference I have is that of the Intaki system.

Regardless of militia dominance the Intaki Assembly has consistently been portrayed as remaining sovereign and in control.

This was even the case when the Caldari Navy (not militia) swept through Placid, and the megacorporations were awarded systems in Heth's blind auctions.

It'd be interesting for the lore impact of FW to be explored more.

Agreed, I've always wondered this as well. I have my own headcanon but it would be nice to get a rough description of happenings in a system as it flips.
