Hello,

I recently reactivated my account and wanted to hop into the game, but can't seem to get the launcher to load. It downloads roughly 20-40 files and stops.

When I check the log, the final entry is:
2016-09-14T01:24:45.532Z download error Failed downloading "http://res.eveonline.ccpgames.com/74/744db730c14b7c37_3752e4ef8b53ae5c3344ce834cc219ec" - "Data corrupted" after 0 retries

I have attempted to download this file in admin mode, with AV and firewall disabled. Still, the file just doesn't want to download and is a stopper.

Could you try running the latest development version of the launcher? I've been trying to address similar issues with more aggressive retrying.

Go to the E menu in the upper right corner (or the View menu on the menu bar on Mac), select Settings... and change version type to Development, then restart the launcher.

Let me know if this helps.

Note that the development version of the launcher changes quite frequently and may break from time to time, so in general you do not want use the dev version - only switch to it to test fixes or new features.

It did not. Not completely. Previously it would get stuck on the one file and ignore the other 2,900 in queue. This time it downloaded the other 2,900 and got stuck at 1 file left. Now it just sits at 0 of 1 files (74.20MB) 20.2% and does not progress.

As before, I've attempted this with AV disabled and any remaining AV process in the process manager killed. I've run the launcher as admin and still, it seems to hate this one file. However, unlike previously, there is no longer an error message generated in the log. Switching back to released launcher provides the same error:

2016-09-19T06:43:38.923Z download error Failed downloading "http://res.eveonline.ccpgames.com/74/744db730c14b7c37_3752e4ef8b53ae5c3344ce834cc219ec" - "Data corrupted" after 0 retries

Can you download that specific file in your system browser?

If so, as a workaround you can put it in the right location as if the launcher had downloaded it. Open the shared cache folder, move it to ResFiles/74.

I'd like to see the logs from the dev version - please file a bug report, attaching the logs - I need to understand why this is failing so I can properly fix it.

I can not. I attempted it earlier, but didn't mention it as I didn't know if it was meant to work that way or not.

I receive the error:
C:\Users\COWSGO~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Y5KxYVfg.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.
Try again later, or contact the server administrator.
On firefox, and simply:
"This file couldn't be downloaded."
for Internet Explorer.

Bug report getting submitted immediately after this.

Well, if you can't download this file in your system browser that would indicate something is wrong with your connection or the connection from your ISP to Amazon CloudFront.

Please go to the Network Diagnostics, run the Basic and Traceroute tests and add the output to your bug report - also run the download tests.

You may need to contact your ISP to help with identifying the issue - the info from the network diagnostics may help them.

Sorry about the late response, I was away.

My friend, in my absence, downloaded the file and managed to host it for me. I was able to get the launcher to recognize it and say it's complete. However, it freezes on a new file, same issue.

I did a standard tracert and noticed it gets hung (times out) after it pings 27.0.2.1, but managed to ping server-54-192-127-176.nert52.r.cloudfront.net.

So, I need to learn how to help you to help me fix it so I can play the game, I suppose!

I had this problem just today as I was installing a new copy of EVE. Doing the dev release and then redoing the regular one fixed it for me.

error Failed downloading "http://res.eveonline.ccpgames.com/98/98eedff0f424c195_91f4475d007aa64dd9a0e79927f3d095" - "Connection closed" after 0 retries

I thought you may like to know that this problem may have returned, hopefully it was just for me and everyone else is fine.
