Plants should play more important role.
in 0.0 sec
pilot earn isk from the "people" who lives in plant .
pilot protect/control plants and take tax revenue each day.
population and some other factor influnce isk more or less.
piolot can also raid other plants population /isk to there own.
pilot kill pirate npc can grow up population .
anyone can check the plants tax .plants not only can offer isk but also can product mine.
high sec could have war for plants issue by npcP

That's some terrible Google translate right there.

Makes feel safe about the length of time before we are bowing to our AI overlords.

I'm pretty sure he means 'planets' by 'plant', but I cannot figure out which language uses word 'plant' for 'planet', none of the european/slavic/greek languages as far as I've researched. So the question 'what's your native language' is the most intriguing question here. :p My bet is on an Asian language. Possibly Korean or Japanese, but I'm leaning more towards Korean.

EDIT: I cheated and looked this gentleman up on evewho. Looks likely he speaks Chinese

Its not about PI. Its a mixture of what we have with PI now and Civilization style ideas in space.

The people that live in and tax revenue we have with PI now, the increase to the plants and such is all skill based now not player activity based.

The raiding others plants was something CCP wanted PI to be but never developed into. It was supposed to be tied into DUST and planetary bombardment and raiding other colonies in the other game. As we know it never transpired.

There is no NPC killing that would be apart of PI though as it stands.

It would be an interesting idea and tie in mind you but the PI interface is horrible and chunky to perform any sort of actual gameplay as it stands. But some sort of Civilization style "barbarian horde" or "unrest" style uprising to be controlled or monitored would be a steady way to nerf/buff the set and forget style play of PI colonies now.

But thats what I got from that engrish poast.Twisted

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Walk around on planets (like in your station). Let corps take control of these planets like they can take control of zones in null sec. let corps build things on these planets more advanced stuff. Instead of just land null sec joins lets have planet fights. Not the worse Idea i've ever had. but it would be really cool in future updates adds more to the game.

Edit: Not just Custom Officers like total dom of a planet and you can walk around on these planets if your corp owns it and only planets can be taken over in null sec. and other corps can take control of your planet by doing stuff.

As for planets control, we have PI (planetary interaction) customs stations which are controllable/conquerable. (I think? It got implemented in the end, right? So there would be your importance of planets).

No scoffing at PI, it's one of the places where babies needed for T2 manufacturing come from. And those babies are fairly scarce. T2 indy guys (like me) pay through the nose and do Buy Order battle for that stuff. The trick is, the PI guy has to haul the stuff toward a market hub, and put up a good Sell Order. Many don't, they just dump it in the nearest dockable station. So T2 indy warriors scoop up bargain deals, no matter what level of sec.

Anyway, didn't Goons figure in PI capacity losses into their What Went Wrong assessment?

It's not a horrible idea to be honest. It's what many hoped/expected CCP to implement and develop from PI game play, conquerable planets and fights for resources on the planets. That vision now seems to be completely dropped and what we have is a click fest farmville on planets.

Some people ate happy wih EVE staying as and focusing on spaceship pew pew game, and if I had to choose between spaceship game play vs many other things I would choose space ships too. But personally I hope CCP stands by its vision of EVE becominh a total sci-fi simulation. The mutiny against Incarna was undetstandable buy since then CCP seems too afraid of pursuing bold long term visions. As the technology is advancing, I hope CCP makes long term plans and bold initiatives to realise that goal of EVE as a total space sim, a vision for 2023 maybe. While I do love EVE, I think the game of this pedegree and original vision and ambition deserves player patience and developer commitment for bigger things. While new space ships and balances are nice for what we do now and in recent future, I don't think EVE will survive into the third or forth decade just through introduction of new ships (or even new space) and mechanic tweaks.

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

There is no language from which Google translate would translate "planet" to "plant" - why would it? Google translate does not make mistakes based on phonetics, people do. But nice try.

PS: here are the above sentences google translated from English to Chinese and back - illustrating my point

Bit touchy there.

It was meant a bit light hearted, though if I'm serious, I have to agree. Google translate would never do something as absurd as convert "vegetable" to "clitoris", mistake "Sweden" for "Canada", or translate "laughing laboriously" to "banging ass on the floor". I mean, why would it?
