Probe diameter changing when I press the analyze button

I've searched high and low and can't see any other mention of this but it's driving me mad

When I'm scanning I set out my probes using shift and alt to home in etc. However quite often when I press the analyse button the diameter of some of the probes suddenly changes up or down one which of course means I have to wait until it completes the scan, resize and do the scan again. Sometimes the random resizing can happen 3 or 4 times in a row before it stays where I want.

am I doing something wrong? is this a bug (I'm on a 27" iMac FWIW)?

it's driving me up the wall.

the times i've found this happen was when i would hold shift and try to shrink/enlarge all the probes at once.

what i have found was that while the probes all looked like they were the same size, in the scanner window 1 or 2 of them actually still showed the next size up or down respectively.

If you drag the circles a little past the size you're aiming for and let them snap back, it tends to minimize this problem. But as a result of this i've found it prudent to pay more attention to the scan window, because it still happens occasionally.

Hmm i have never gotten around to dragging the spheres smaller/bigger. I just use the context menu in the scanner window to set probe sizes. Never had the problem that the OP describes.

Get this occasionally when I’m going a little too quickly and I release the shift too soon when resizing all, and like you say, you only know an issue when you hit scan. It’s quicker than doing it with the window, so I would suggest you continue using, just be more precise

Ive found that once it does happen you should drag each probe scan sphere to the desired size one by one. That seems to stop it from repeating over and over.
